Dearest Sue,
It seems that your errand takes you longer away than we anticipated - and now it is time for me to leave Rivendell and to return to Bree-land. A note reached me from Bill Twiggins, saying that they need me urgently to sign something to devolve the house ownership to me. Someone in that town-hall decided that my deceased granny cannot own a house. Well, I found my smile and my happiness in Rivendell these past months and feel totally ready to deal with any of those bureaucrats.
I have also made a decision concerning Archet. I will go there on my own to remember my lost family, and I will go there for the Archet event - and I will take it as a contribution of people who truly want to help. Even those drunken dwarves are raising gold for the reconstruction, and when I can tolerate them in the Pony, why not there, too. And my parents and my little brother would not have wanted me to be sad all the time, so I guess I will be able to enjoy the music there next time and smile about the backwards running dwarves. However, the rebuilding works have been rather sluggish so far. I would not be surprised if someone is putting money aside for themselves.
Too bad I cannot say goodbye in person, but you know you can come to Bree any time to say hello and stay with me for some time. I am looking forward to working in my garden again, to listening to songs in the Pony, maybe playing some myself, to meeting old and new friends there - and to annoy that someone in the town-hall by pointing out the slow progress in Archet and my suspicions about it.
Hope to see you again really soon!
Your old friend
Malyn
