Background

Earwulfa of Langhold's life is one filled with sorrow and vengeance. She was betrothed to a nobleman from the Norcrofts. He was a close friend of Earwulfa's brother who was second in command of his small eored.

But before she and her beloved one could marry, an orc shot him of his horse. Earwulfa's brother, Earcliff, brought his body back and took over command of her lover's riders set off to aid prince Theodred in the defence of the Fords of Isen and to take revenge for the death of his friend and his sister's lover.

Earwulfa returned to Langhold, heartbroken and sorrowful. Because a sword and shield are the weapons of man, she took up a bow to hunt brigands, Easterlings, orcs and wargs. Earning her the title of Bogamaegde of Langhold.

When a traveler from distant lands reached Langhold and convinced its Thane, Utred to evacuate the town and to make ready for a defense against the combined strentgh of Easterlings and Brigands. Earwulfa escorted the inhabitants of Langhold on her steed, Belifend who first belonged to her lover, to Harwick. When the convoy reached the walls of the biggest city of the Wold, Earwulfa turned Belifend to aid in Langhold's defense. But it was too little, to late. Smoke already rose up from the town she once called her home. Langhold had fallen and Earwulfa swore vengeance once again and took an oath to cleanse the plains of the Riddermark from evil.

Her quest for vengeance has brought her to Snowbourn where she continues to hunt the minions of Isengard and Mordor and awaits news from her brother of whom she hasn't heard ever since.
