During the first age, Gondolin fell. The blood that filled the streets and the screams of the fallen pierce the ears of those who survived. My name is Duindos, honor guard. I was assigned to Glorfindel's company in those last days. The treachery of our own kin led to our downfall. When our forces drew too weak to resist, those still living fled, including myself. I choose to retreat to the Golden Wood of Lorien, and it was there I remained for many long years.

   After decades upon decades of steeling my mind and sword arm, The Last Alliance of Elves and Men was formed... against Sauron himself. For too long had he been a thorn in the side of our kind, of all good people. A servant of Morgoth through and through, that is what Sauron was, and he fell to the blade of a man. May Sauron never again be free. 

   I can hear the singing and golden light since the last time I was in the uttmostwest. How long I spent there after the last alliance shook Sauron, I can not tell. I left for those lands to find ultimate peace, my time in Middle-Earth was done. So wrong I was... So here I stand again upon the shores of Celondim, with a heart full of light so bright that no shadow may pierce it. I will bring an end to the awakening evil of Morgoth once and for all.
