Baltadred has been a Watcher since he was a young man, eager to protect his home town of Bree even though he will never deny that he was also tempted after one of the men claimed that women were fond of the uniform! It was at least how he managed to charm up Linda who later became his wife.

The two of them married young and within three years they had already been blessed with two sons, Gavin and Daniel. It wasn't until a few years later that Baltadred was blessed again with a darling baby girl they named Elyssa.

All the children are now grown with Gavin having moved to Combe and taken up work at the lumber mill, the boy now married and two sons of his own. Daniel remained in Bree at the butcher shop, married as well now and a newborn to care for.
The youngest of the three, Elyssa, has married a poet but a very poor one at that. She has been forced to live with her father where she, her husband and three children now live mostly on her father's coin since the poet himself makes little income except for a few coppers tossed to him in pity.

After teaching himself how to read Batladred had found a cozy place within the Watch reading letters sent or given as well as writing letters that needed to be sent out. However after recent troubles continuing to spark up at the Pony his place has been moved to the square where the Pranching Pony stands to keep an eye on things, not something he is too happy about.

His wife passed recently and with all the stress now on his shoulders the man is in poor health but continues to fight on, refusing to let himself rest with so much depending on him.
