Outward Appearance

Race/Ethnicity:  Breelander.

Skin Tone:  Caucasian.

Height: 5’5”, he hasn’t had too many growth spurts as of yet.

Build:  Fairly small and adolescent in frame with somewhat narrow shoulders and hips.  He would still be in mid puberty so his shape is somewhat awkward with large feet and thin frame.

Eyes:  A bright, limey green.

Hair: He has very dark brown, mid-length hair.  The natural texture of his hair is silky and soft to the touch, however it has quite a bit of greasiness to it due to not being washed as often as it should be.  On the very top of his hair, a chunk sticks up from a cowlick that is often poorly cut around.

Tattoos, Piercings, Marks, Scars, etc.: He has a few scratches here and there, but nothing serious.

Appearance: Hamnet is a young man of small stature. His chin is pointed and short, giving him a slight adolescent feminine look.  From his chin, his jawline goes upward to his cheeks of which are sunken in and typically dirt covered. The skin beneath the residue of dust has a natural pale hue, however the sun has burned his skin and turned it a darker tan.  Scarce freckles dot here and there but typically blend in with the dust. Between his cheeks, Hamnet's nose sticks out ever so predominately. It isn't abnormally large, but it does stand out as the highest point of his face.  Above his nose, Hamnet's eye line seems almost sunken in due to the scarcity of his food supply. His eyebrows are moderately thick, but not heavily noticeable. The hue of his eyes, despite being green, seem to go along in with the grey attire and dirt covered face. They're color would look alike to the fresh growth of greenery in early spring.

Religion:  None.

Education: Before he and his father ended in the alley, Hamnet had a very basic education.  This includes learning how to read somewhat decently, a decent level of math, and so on.  After landing in the alley, Hamnet hasn’t had much to forward his education save for his mild interest in reading when visiting the library on his own.  He has never learned how to fight, but he has learned how to shoo off rats.

Languages spoken: Westron

Weapons (if any): He has a small dagger and that is all.

Occupation(s): None

Special Abilities/Skills: Nothing in particular.

Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions/Disorders/Disabilities: Nothing physically serious, although he is emotionally withdrawn with the very recent death of his father.

Background

A young woman named Harreit Trout married her first true love named John Hill giving him a son named Will Hill and a daughter named Alice Hill.  Shortly after Alice’s death, John Hill passed away and Harreit married her second husband named Henry Tulley.  When Will Hill grew older, he felt little connections to the Tulley family and the farmstead they owned.  Deciding to strike out on his own, Hill moved into Bree nearby and took up an apprenticeship as a merchant.  In Bree, Will met a young woman named Annie Rose whom he fell in love with quickly.  He asked her to be his wife, but beforehand impregnated her.  Before the two could be wed, Annie died giving birth to her and Will’s son, Hamnet Hill.

Later, Will Hill began courting another young woman from Combe named Alice Fern, however he did not love her in the way he loved Annie Rose.  When she revealed her pregnancy with his and her son, he sent her off to her father’s home in Combe not wishing to marry her.  Alice gave birth to her daughter and Hamnet’s sister Lola Fern who still lives in Combe keeping a relatively distant relationship with her brother.

Although Will was not the best in his career as a merchant, he did find a strong ability in playing cards.  To keep his home afloat, Will played cards frequently as his young son began to take up more and more of his merchant business being more adept at it than his father.  However, through a series of devastating losses, Will lost his business and home leaving him and his son in the alley.  The Tulley family whom Will’s mother had married into turned away from Will deeming his position in life his own fault.

Hamnet stayed by his father’s size as illness set in from the cold and harsh life living on the streets put the older man through.  Shortly Will passed away and the Rumsey family reached out to the now orphaned and terrified Hamnet, helping the young boy back up on his feet after his father’s death.  At that point, Hamnet reached out to his Grandma Tulley asking for aid and after her husband’s death, Harreit Tulley was able to convince her children to hire Hamnet onto the farm.  Now Hamnet works as a farmhand and lives in a small shed out back with the family’s other farmhand Wilbert Woodman.
