Hologar was born at the Grey Mountain, he was the only son of a dwarven commander. His family was a warrior bloodline, so he was born to be a soldier. He started his training at a very young age. He was proven to be a hot-headed, stubborn, but brave and noble-hearted fighter, who knows no fear or retreat.

At the age of 18, he followed king Dáin to the Battle of the Five Armies as a vice-captain of the sixth battalion. He showed courage, unbreakable soul and valor on the battlefield. During the battle, he stuck at an old marketplace with some elven warriors, but they managed to defeat the opponents that surrounded them. Even the elven warriors admired his skills. He survived the battle and the king promoted him to a commander.

He led some successful battles against the forces of Dol Guldur, he was one of the few dwarven commander who could work together with the elves of Mirkwood. His name and his deeds were known to everyone around the northern lands.

Sixty years later, a group of wandering elves visited king Dáin and asked him, to let Hologar join their company. They thought that the strong arm and heart of the dwarf could be useful for their company in their mission to protect all of Middle-Earth, anywhere where it is needed. The king allowed Hologar to join the company. Since then, he and a small group of warriors are roaming the lands and aid those who needs help.
