Outward Appearance

Oydis has short, curly orange hair that frames her face, usually sticking out in all sorts of odd angles, and always very messy. She's pale skinned and lightly freckled with pale blue eyes. Her name, accent and looks give away her Dalish heritage, and she usually has flour smeared on her clothes, or even her cheek and neck. She is roughly 5 foot and three inches, and she's a little on the thin side. She looks younger and smaller than her actual age of twenty-six winters.

She's very soft-spoken and shy when it comes to meeting new people. but she is very proud and even a bit egotistical when it comes to her baking, claiming to be better than most, by far. She can be very selfish at times, but tries to be kind and polite to most people, as long as they are kind also. Oydis doesn't know much about fighting, or really anything other than farming and baking. There is something off about her when asked about her family, and seems to be hiding something. She is not a very good liar.

Background

Oydis comes from a family of hard-workers in Dale. Her brothers and father were all farmers, and owned a chunk of land in her homeland that their farm was on. She grew up in a comfortable home, though she was never spoiled or went a day without doing any work. She mostly stayed with her mother and helped around the house, taking care of the younger and helping to prepare meals. Under her mother's wing, she found her love for baking, and dreamed of opening up her own bakery since she was about seven winters old.

She is the oldest of her sisters, and had two older brothers. When asked, she will say that her father sent her to Bree on a caravan of their neighbors, which is only partially true. When things began to get worse, and the raiding and fighting started around them, her father told her that she must gather her two sisters, and her mother, and flee Dale. After searching fruitlessly for her mother and sister, she ran from Dale with the youngest, at the age of four summers, after she discovered her brothers and father had been slaughtered by orcs. Oydis tries to hide her from most Bree-landers, not wanting them to think she is a runaway mother, who stole her child from it's father.

The journey to Bree was a long and hard one, but miraculously they both arrived safe and sound. While she tried to gather up enough coin, Oydis and her sister, Brenna, stayed in the Comb and Wattle. She brought with her just enough coin to get by for a short time, until she had started to make her own. With nothing else but her baking, she approached the Captain of the Bloody Dawn, and started to work there, hoping that it would be enough. Soon, she left the company to start up her own bakery in Bree. Even from them, and anyone else, she hides that she lived in an Inn when she first got to Bree, and even more so does she hide Brenna. Despite keeping her hidden and away, Oydis adores and loves her sister, going to great lengths to make sure the girl is happy. They have a very close bond and some days, Oydis might can be caught playing with the girl outside the Inn, or taking her over to the small market across from it.

Just recently, Oydis has been able to purchase a home for herself and Brenna, and with the rest of the money she had, she has started up her baking business in Bree and sells from her new home, while the bakery is being built. She left the Bloody Dawn to do so, but remains on good terms with a few of the members.
