Brighan's family comes from Minhiriath. For many generations, they survived deforestation, desolation and wars, but had to abandon their beloved lands between the Brandywine and the Greyflood in the year 2912, when Minhiriath was devastated by floods in the spring That Followed The Fell Winter. 

Lonely and distrustful, Brighan is a huntress since she can remember, like her ancestors, and she struggles every day for survival. 
And though she does not show sympathy for heroes and powerful ones, she feels compassion for those smaller and more vulnerable, whom she usually help without being asked.

Her family name is Eadarowen, and she also answers to the nickname of Arthwen.
