Morowyn's parents hailed from Mirkwood. Her father fought nobly for his people and her mother made fine jewelry, passing her knowledge to her only daughter. Morowyn's father was slain at the Battle of the Five Armies (year 2941, 60 years before Bilbo's 111th Unexpected Birthday Party), leaving his wife and seven year old daughter (quite young in elven years). Morowyn does not remember her father but clings to the stories her mother told her of his heroism.

Her surname literally meaning “free” or “uncontrolling” in elvish tongue, Morowyn is an untroubled spirit who stands neutral on most grounds. She is a wanderer who scouts the land on her specific quest. At a young age, Morowyn discovered her magical inclination. Upon reaching adulthood, she left her mother's home in Mirkwood in search of knowledge and power. She wanders the lands, studying ruins, mystical creatures, and even learning from other magic users. She is nowhere near all-powerful, but her prowess in battle is known.
