Outward Appearance

If you had looked upon this Dwarf ten years ago, then you would have been greeted by a clean, well-nourished, richly dressed and finely armed character who possessed a cheerful spirit. However, now he lives without stable income - a different looking Dwarf indeed. Even his weapons, a large sword, was of the finest make, with engravings that tell of its great feats. "Wolfbutcher" was its name.

His clothes are torn and ragged with stains of mud, ale and other unpleasant marks. The once full face is now gaunt-like, it is clear that he is not well-fed. Despite spending much of his time outdoors, pale is his skin. The most notable part of his attire is that of his cloak, which is torn in such a way that it only covers half of what it should.

For all the raggedness that he possesses, one thing remains noticeable unscathed: His beard. It is of a dark brown colour, with his hair tied back and lightly decorated with metal clips. The beard is somewhat impressive, in comparison with his clothing; long, well-braided and tied up with many metallic clips and ties.

The great sword Wolfbutcher is long since gone. Now Waldin wields weapons of crude make, a thin sword that is chipped, rusted and held together by knots of string. Certainly not an instrument of legend, as is mockingly named "Cubbutcher". Not crafted in the great forges of the mountains, but rather by an apprentice in Bree.

Waldin's strength and stature remains unaffected by his recent destitution. In comparison to many dwarrows, he is rather tall. His shoulders are broad and arms have much strength in them. Although rather 'bulky' he is a swift sprinter. Despite his weapons being of poor make, you would be wise to avoid him in combat.

Background

Waldin has never known of rest. From an early age he has travelled with the merchant caravans of the Dwarves and Men. Born within the Blue Mountains, he is a Longbeard through and through. He retains pride of his heritage, even during his life in poverty.

Should they have enough coin to pay him, Waldin shall escort either people or goods to their intended destination. A brave heart, he takes such work very seriously and if the need is there, he would surely take an arrow for those who he protects. One particular escort earned him the name 'Warghewer' when he sliced a warg in two with a single blow.

Today, however, he has fallen upon hard times. Long-distance trade has become less common, which means there is little need of escorts. He has found himself in Bree, and is willing to take up any work for coin.
