Background
A pure-blooded Dunlending, Mactire Maoilmhichil (pronounced "Mac-teer Mit-chull") was born and raised Daingean Mactire, the foster son of the eccentric Archet Scholar, Crowfast.
It is said that when Mactire was a wee one, his mother, a mystic, wished him raised hidden from the increasing violence among the Dunlending clans. She thus washed the swarth from his skin in the River Glanduin and sent him for rearage by Crowfast, who owed her a boon.
Having recently met Glynn Brenin of Lhanuch, Mactire has discovered that he descends from Clan Maoilmhichil, part of the Lhanuch fine. As a result, he has abandoned his common name (Daingean) for his surname and clan name. His old friends, however, still call him Dain.
