Journal Entry #2
Written from the inn at Mossward
The strangest letter reached me in Herne before departing and this clearly was not where I anticipated staying. A man by the name of Lynwelyn contacted me for a contract, the letter read
" Curio,
Word has reached us of your peculiar skill set, and I have reason to believe this may align with your own interests and be a most beneficial arrangement.
We got the interfering ranger Alphdir out of the way, but our contacts in Dunland have been unreliable, and I would like you to confirm he is deceased, or kill him yourself. As for the blond ranger and the woman, dispose of them in the way that seems best to you, and make sure no news of them reaches the north.
Find the village of the Caru-lûth, Lhan Tarren, but use care, they are not to be trusted. Near them you should find an outpost of their enemies, the Draig-lûth, your target should be there. They will have no love for the prisoner, but have been uncooperative with our people—a situation that will soon be resolved. Contact Huilun in Galtrev if you need assistance or to contact us, though I have no doubts that you will be able to handle this on your own. Aid us in this small matter, and once these three are dealt with, I will have additional lucrative work for you.
I am offering 10 gold, and our partnership and friendship if you accomplish this. Ask for Welyn in the Crossway House once it is done.
Hoping for a profitable arrangement,
Lynwelyn. "
I recieved it from the barkeep as I was just about to part ways with Elisende and Thurintier.
Quickly I hid the letter in my bag and made my way over to the group. They were talking to an elven woman who went by the name of Glirwing, a very kind woman but it made no sense why she was here. Not a fighter, however, she was sent by one of their ranger folk to keep an eye on the "propriety" of them since it was a woman and a man. Gotta love it. I highly doubt that was the biggest concern, but she's a sweetheart.
She has a cat and it's a really neat cat because it's huge and fluffy. So I think that's how she's been able to manage the wilds. Rune likes him, so that's extra neat. We learned though that Thurn hates cats. I refuse to call him by his full name, he glared at Rune.
*some words are scribbled out*
I'm getting off-topic, I joined them and we began traveling to Mossward, hence why I'm here. I got to see Tharbad, which was an awful experience. There was too much water, so much so it made the whole Sarn Ford experience look like a cakewalk, and I learned just how much of an airhead Elisende is when it comes to freakin architecture. Thurn and I took out a bunch of orcs, and where was she, LOOKING AT WALLS? WALLS.
The group is asleep now as I write this. I need to figure out my plan.
The letter said to find the village, so If I stay long enough for us to Dunland, then I can split off and do what I need to do. My head is too clouded to even write any of it down, I feel like I might have eyes on me.
