Songs and poetry : Homage to the sun

I have looked at the sun as never before, for never before I have stopped to stare at it as to gather all its light in my heart, a supply to last me be it what may. Sweet and mysterious are the nights when the breeze has more power to spread the perfume of flowers, when the silence is deeper and allows each sound of a tune to tell its full story. But the day.. With its life and its light and its wonder, one cannot fully feel its overwhelming gift before lacking the light of the sun for years. The words of the lady Mirineth, so sad and wise seemed to answer my thoughts. Dance while you can she said. And I stopped from answering: And look at the sun.. I should thank the lady Mirineth some day as her words and her summoning us under the ligth of the sun inspired my hand to write again after all this years.

Oh, watch the sun while it is there
Its presence’s joy allow the flare
And fill your eyes with golden light
For it might someday leave your sight.

'The sun will stay', you mock my words
'So will the trees, so will the birds'..
But did you think that you might not
Be where their beauty you can spot?

When darkness fills your night and day
And rock and brick keep far the rey
That sun has given you,
And only rust and black and grey
Of iron, stone, and moistly clay
Replace the green and blue
You learn to price the smell of hey,
The song that birds so joyous play,
The light trough leaves of yew,
The drops of rain that light beams stray.
Taste, as in the warm grass still you lay,
The gold of sun in morning dew

And, with its taste on lips, you will
Search lute or parchment, pen or quill
And humbly give the mighty sun
Your art homage so fairly won.
