"Probably ought to have made a different choice in clothing," was the thought going through Reidun's mind as she stepped in to the common room of the Prancing Pony Inn.
It was not that she had never been in a place such as this before and was unaccustomed to the smell of vomit and sweat permeating every thing in the room. (Oh, the very air did seem to be full of the stench.) No, she was very accustomed to it and hardly noticed.
It was the people she saw within. Why, the moment she walked through the door, she was welcomed by the sight of what appeared, at first, to be a drunken brawl. Between a man, some law-woman and two dwarves. She smirked to herself, thinking how this night may not end up as boring as so many others since she and her brother came to this village.
She had to admit, the man and the dwarf seemed to be the ones with the majority of the issue. They both looked like fun and she would have to remember their faces so she could needle them should their paths ever cross.
"What brings you here, all dressed up?" Her brother's voice broke through her thoughts. "To look for you, you clumsy ox," was her thought, but not her answer. She had heard he was here and came looking for him. Somehow, though she was the known "troublemaker" of the family...trouble always seemed to find Davnos just fine without her. She was almost surprised he was not in the middle of the fight.
She looked toward the fight. It was gone and so were the people who participated. As she and her brother poked fun at each other in the way they always had, the night settled into the same normalcy as previous nights.
But at least her first night out and about in Bree was not wholly uneventful.
