Memories: Jealousy unbound

A young woman stands in the yard of her home training with her spear and shield, same routine as always, even without her Father to train with her. Step one, step two, step three and so on, She does this happily even eagerly "You will be a protector my daughter. And as such you need a weapon befitting of one." Yes! That is what her Father had said before giving her the spear named Lightborn. She had taken it happily on that day and had practiced with it every day since.

The sound of a horse approaching at speed causes her to cease her routine curious of who it may be. The figure quickly becomes recognisable as her half brother Thoronhael, The young woman grimaces a bit wondering why he was here as the last time he had come he was thrown out by their Father "Abomination!" he yells from his horse before dismounting fully armed with his own spear and shield "Is our Father home?" he continues once he is a bit closer. The young woman shakes her head gently "No... But he should be here soon if you need him?" she says kindly as despite his hate for her she never harbored any ill will towards him. Thoronhael just smiles and shakes his head "No... I needed you... Alone!" he says launching a quick thrust straight at her right shoulder "That spear should be MINE, spawn of the enemy!"

The young woman wasn't expecting it but was at least able to mostly avoid it taking a glancing blow to her shoulder, she staggers back holding her now lightly bleeding shoulder "What are you doing?! Thoron PLEASE." She winces taking her hand off her shoulder and yelps a bit when she sees the blood. The young woman retreats into a defensive stance as her own half brother launches even more attacks in her direction. Thoronhael had a few years of experience on her however and she couldn't keep up with his furious attacks, several glancing blows to different body parts later and the young woman was on her knees in the dirt disarmed and bleeding quite a bit from her various wounds,  Thoronhael gloats over her "This is what Dangon called the best of us?! Get up... Get up... GET UP..." The young woman remains on her knees completely in shock however "Fine... I'll start with your spear-arm then... You will never fight again... If you even live after I'm done with you." The armed and angry man says as he drives his spear through the young woman's right shoulder and pins her down on the floor completing his original objective, she cries out in agony and squirms as much as she can "Why Thoron... Why... Please... What did I do?" Thoronhael somehow manages an even more furious face "You took everything from me... And my Mother... And you have the gall to ask why? The spear is mine by right you monster." He continues his monologue not noticing the approaching sound of another horse "You and your Mother... Destroyed us... Destroyed this family... That is your crime... And the sentence is death!" he says yanking the spear out of the young woman's shoulder before placing the point above her right thigh and raising the spear up for another strike before a thundering voice rings out from some twenty meters away "Stop this madness!" Thoronhael recoils in fear as Dangon returns from whatever errand he had been running. Dangon dismounts quickly as soon as he arrives in the yard "Leave... And never come back..." he says darkly throwing an evil and violent glare at Thoronhael, The younger man runs away in fear forgetting his horse. "Dalsael!" Dangon calls out as he runs over to his daughter who is now delirious and on the verge of passing out from the pain "What did he do to you..." he says in a warm gentle and fatherly manner as he does the simple first aid procedures any military man is taught "Hey, hey... Stay with me child... Don't close your eyes... Just breath." He says worriedly, Dalsael does as instructed as best she can but is slipping in and out of conciousness, "Lets get you to the healers... You'll be okay... You'll be okay." Dangon says gently as he picks his daughter up "Just stay with me."

Dangon repeats that sentence as he remounts and swiftly makes for the healers. Dalsael reaches up with her good arm "Dad... Dad... Please help..." she says softly on the verge of passing out completely.

Dalsael wakes up with a sharp and intense pain in her shoulder, recent events had reminded her of this terrible memory, She sits up slowly so as to not wake Nitsu who's arms had been around her. Dalsael sighs quietly as she rolls her shoulder and lies back down hoping she can get back to sleep.
