I am still at my camp outside of Bree. My duty to my lord has not permitted me to leave quite yet. I still feel uncomfortable entering the town. The men stare and the children hide behind their mothers when they see me. I have tried to lay low and stay out of sight, but that is not as easy as it seems.
I returned this eve to the inn of the town, The Prancing Pony. Quite the odd name isn't it? To my surprise, I met the Lady Cat once more. She unfortunately was deeply into her cups and seemed to have a difficult time holding a conversation, though I am not put off by it in the least.
Her words are sharp and she is mischievous. But she is also kind I think. We spoke for a while before Master Cynferth showed up once again as well. It was nice to see the man once more, though he could not stay and speak for long. Another friend came to the inn as well, a Master Gregwald. He is young, but seems like a man with a good heart. I think he might have affections for the Lady Cat.
Lady Cat seemed to have hurt her hand earlier, in a fight perhaps? She had gone to the doctor and had it stitched up, but it was still bothering her. I am no healer by any means, but I have learned to always carry Athelas and bandages with me. I have endured many wounds such as the lady's. I offered for Master Gregwald to fix it up for her with the ingredients I provided. At first he seemed hesitant, even though he wanted her to feel better. He set his mind to it though and in no time her hand was fixed up.
I am glad that Master Gregwald stood up to the challenge. He did wonderfully. If he set his mind to it, I think he could become a great healer, but Im not sure of the path he has chosen for his life. I am glad to have met this man as well, even if he seemed a little scared of me at first.
This stop in Bree is turning out much more different than I could have imagined. But I am glad for it. Even so, I long for Imladris and it's waterfalls. I must return soon, I need to speak. With Lord Elrond on important matters anyways.
Until next time, dear journal!
