Change of Plans: Defend!
~ Duindos swiftly turned his gaze to an object on his right, sitting on a stand of sorts. “This place will be besieged. He knows.” ~
Clad in white, Duindos returns to Draugmir, bearing much needed news. Colerelle (who’d partially healed and saved him) came along too. Coming across Captain Mortanas first, Duindos soon unloaded his knowledge, beginning with the fact that the stone still existed, and was nowhere near the Barrow-downs – as he said he could feel its power still lingering at the edge of his mind, and claimed to have assisted in its creation long ago. The dwarf may have been surprised and confused when the elf told him this... but Mort flat out thought him to be crazy at first when the elf told him of the next thing…
Mortanas – He narrowed his eyes in thought after Duindos explained himself. “…You must be that elf who Agromnir and Calagand spoke of briefly when they were here.”
Duindos – The elf nodded slowly. “Likely so.”
Mortanas – “By Durin’s beard, where did you go?”
Duindos – “...I was assassinated... or so they thought.”
Mortanas – The Dwarf took on a thoughtful and concerned look. “By whom?”
Duindos – “…Alestair, The Burglar…”
______
Duindos – “…Alestair was once a noble knight, you know this I am sure. But time, and pain, drove him mad… I've seen it coming for years – he finally cracked. I wager he has taken the stone for himself, and intends to wield it. You must remember, that he may not be himself. The shadow is strong, sometimes stronger than the strongest willed men.”
Aranoll – “What must we do then?”
Duindos – “He must be captured, the stone taken and destroyed. Then he must be purified, assuming it isn't too late.”
Aranoll – “And if it is?”
Duindos – “Then his death will be a mercy…”
