Elven Journey to Lindon

Loth-i-Lonnath Travels Home to Lindon

OOC details:

This is an Elf only RP event for those edhil that are in Rivendell IC and wish to travel to Lindon IC. Roleplay regarding this journey outside of these scheduled days/times at camping locations are encouraged and welcomed. So enjoy the journey with anyone who is participating on additional nights as you wish. If you have questions on how to do this, ask Lothoniel.

Requirements:

• Character must be a compatible lore friendly elf.

• Character must be appropriately named and presently IC RPing they are in Rivendell.

• Character min level 50.

• A standard plain 62% horse is required to ride with us. This ensures everyone is riding at the same speed and has a similar look. The "Grey Horse" or "Prized Galadhrim Steed" are highly preferred for this event.

• Have a laurelinarchives.org profile for your character.

Participation & Location Details:

We are screening all participants to ensure all characters/players are a good fit for this event and to avoid possible griefing. Thus, you will receive the location after you communicate your intention to travel with us following the instructions below.

To Lothonieldo one of the following:

• Send in-game mail
• Private message through this site
• Post message in our forums through our kinship website.
   https://loth-i-lonnath.shivtr.com/forums/518769
• Direct message on Discord (Hiril Lothoniel)

In your message, include:

○ Character Name
○ Character Kinship (if applicable)
○ Level
○ Do you have a 62% plain/standard mount? Yes/No
○ Link to character profile on laurelinarchives.org

We'll respond in due course after we have determined you have met the requirements and the character is compatible for the event. All responses regarding location will be given by in-game mail to the character you specified regardless of which method you used to communicate. This will happen shortly before the event.

If you show up because someone told you where we are, without having done the above instructions first, you will not be allowed to participate that day. Follow the instructions above and we'll get back to you.

NEW: This should go without saying but, when showing up, bring the character you registered for the event, or you may not be able to participated. The purpose of reviewing your character profile is to be sure the character is compatible. (IE...you're not a vampire elf, or some other such creation that is incompatible to the lore as we see it or incompatible to the style of elves typically at this event.) Bringing a character we have not reviewed defeats this simple intent.

What To Expect:

On the first day, we'll meet and prepare for travel. When we depart, we'll travel for a while and then make camp. Each event day will include travel and camping until we reach Duillond. Travel can sometimes be long so be prepared to ride long distances at walking speed. This event is spread out over two weeks to simulate the actual travel time it would take if you had to travel between Imladris and Lindon. In reality, it would take two or more weeks to do this journey in real time. Since this is a simulation, we are not scheduling an event night for every day of travel it would actually take. We try to simulate that as much as we are able with the timetable, spread out over those two weeks. Think of these scheduled RP nights as excerpts from the trip, like an episode of a TV show. Participants are welcome to RP among themselves at the campsites anytime over those two weeks outside of the scheduled event days. It's an opportunity to RP in a different setting using the journey as a backdrop for your RP.

Roleplaying Notes:

• Elf only event, bring an elf if you wish to participate.

(This is a simulated journey of our patrol and escort of elves from Imladris safely to Lindon.)

• Lore focused, immersion role-play environment.

(We are serious about it being a lore friendly and RP immersion environment. Those found to be disruptive of that environment will be ask to leave. However, that being said, please be polite and roll with things. Not everyone knows every detail of lore/dates/names/language - thus, bombastic lore police are not welcome. As a public event, we are only looking for a good effort, not perfection. If you're extremely knowledgeable about the lore, share that knowledge in a way that is constructive, not rude, argumentative, challenging or pointedly questioning in your RP chat. Gentle nudges are fine, but ultimately strive to simply enjoy being with other RPers who share similar passions as you, not pretentiously trying to show off how much more you know than other people. It's annoying and scares off new roleplayers who are trying to learn. Show that you truly have the grace of the Eldar.)

• Music, stories, etc should fit the Middle-Earth setting.

(ABC files should not include popular/modern music. If we're humming the lyrics to "Baby's Got Back" while we're suppose to be in Middle-Earth, you're not getting it. Keep music within genre or don't play music.)

• Outfits are intended for travel. Our Mithdirith will be in uniform.

(This is not a formal setting like a ball, so leave the fancy stuff in your vault. Dress is elven travel based.)

• All /say conversation is assumed to be Sindarin (elven language) unless otherwise noted.

(Please denote other languages such as [W] Westron, [Q] Quenya, [K] Khuzdul etc, if your character is speaking something other than Sindarin.  Not every character speaks or understands every language, and shouldn't, especially if you're not an elf. Sometimes this makes RP interesting. If you're going to use real Sindarin from time to time, it is customary to include translation for those who many not know. Commonly used words may not require this, such as Mae g'ovannen, as a greeting or Quenya farewell, Namárië.)

• Weapons for travel are fine for this journey.

(Use good judgment as to when to have them out and when to have them away.)

• No pets please.

• Be polite, respectful and remain in-character.

• Beginning elven roleplayers are welcome.
If you're a beginner, let us know how we can help you.
