Diary Entry 002 - Old Rivals Never Die

I begin to feel as though I am regretting writing these again, for I'm not sure I will want to look back on these dark times, for dark times they are for certain, as I lay in the woods, hiding in a mossy crevice with a wounded companion and a hundred Blood Arbiters on my trail.... And a battle scene not far from here to give good indication of where we are.

Our search for any northerners that could prove useful failed, perhaps they weren't even in the vicinity of where we looked, therefore we have planned a new path of direct recruitment and alliances with more open organisations. Perhaps even hiring a mercenary company, a loyal one that stays to it's word, could be useful. After all, it is numbers we are sorely lacking.

Alas, it will be a long time until I look down from the parapets of Redwatch keep down on my Eorldom of Karthmere. But I must make sure it does happen, all in all, no matter the cost.

I am more surprised by the organisation of the Blood Arbiters now than even after the Fall. Even after the death of their leader, Davind Redweller, they seem more relentless and vigorous than ever before. Perhaps they are not even possible to defeat. They bested my father, my brother, the whole Order and a small army.... What chance do I have?

I suppose old rivals never truly die, perhaps we'll be fighting for generations yet. The echoes of Wintermoore and Ramsay live on even after their demise.... I must make sure it is put to an end. For Redhall, for Karthmere, and for my fallen kinsmen.
