Journal Entry 05 : Hookworth

Hookworth

We braved the marshlands again, but this time was different.

I hadn't expected danger, and we still had no weapons...so as soon as we were ambushed by spiders, we were down. We tried to put up a fight, with rocks and punches...but it wasn't enough.

Kirseth hurt her leg and I received a deep slash across my torso.

Luck was upon us, however. A local patrol happened to hear our 'battle' and came to our aid, fending off the spiders before they had chance to do whatever it is those disgusting beasts do to their victims.

The patrol lead us back to their village; they called it "Hookworth."

They did their best to tend to our wounds, and even offered ale and food.

We told stories of our journey and listened to their tales. We talked through the evening and we were offered a bed to share in their guest house. They even gave us spare clothes and arms.

I am currently writing this before I retire to bed. This has been a terrible journey...but Hookworth is a beacon of hospitality and history. I rather like it here...though I never did find the brooch...
