Captain's Quick Report: "Polnolunie" presents: concert "Shadow of the Great War"

A fine audience was about the stage across from the Prancing Pony this day, and a fine group of musicians were they thus listening to – for it was the Polnolunie’s "Shadow of the Great War" performance!  Where posters about town indicated it would be a ‘memorial lyrical concert’, the musicians certainly did not disappoint in such regard from what I can surmise.  There was beauty and sadness to go with their songs sung and melodies played, at least in this ol' Bree Captain's perspective.

The crowd was so large in number this day that I couldn’t hear the lyrics for some time, and had to step closer; to more clearly hear the singing and moving stories being told within the songs the Polnolunie were performing.  While some strange words were mentioned that sounded peculiar to mine ears, such as ‘Bullets’ and ‘Cartridges’ (perhaps they meant skillets and carriages?), it cannot be denied that the slow and often moving melodies themselves made clear what sort of emotions were meant to be conveyed through instrument and music alone.  It was a most gentle time, a beautiful and sorrowful time of memorial indeed, blended together by the Polnolunie musicians.  A warm well done!

The next two weeks bring the dawn of a number of forthcoming events; it’s rumoured, even as far here in Bree-land, that Hobbits of the Shire will be beginning the first early celebrations for their 8th Year Anniversary of Green Dragon Fridays, and all Hobbits are welcome to join the many activities planned; another poster around Bree-town brings news of musicians by the name of ‘The Hope’ coming to perform ‘Balrog’s Footfall’; an interesting spectacle may be observed the next day as Hobbits attempt to clean out an 'infestation' of owls through a musical rehearsal at the famed Golden Perch Inn in Stock; later that same week the Bird and Bay Yard Party will be featuring the Shire Tramps over in Michel Delving; and finally near the final weeks of this Month there is to be the main party of the Green Dragon Friday’s 8th Year Anniversary, with a few days after that the massive Forest of OAKS celebration, or more likely a festival-to-be of it's own should I say, hoho!

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshow coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the album embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many more of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
