A Ranger's tear

She had arrived in Tinnudir an area she could call 'home' for it was her place of birth, but her heart belonged to no where but the wilds of Eriador.  She stood for a time near the Lake and had gazed at Annuminas a cool evening's breeze had licked the waters of Lake Evendim, the waters were now rippling and washing lightly up against her muddy boots.   Her stormy grey eyes tearing away from Annuminas and  looking at the lake that was embracing her.  Exhaling lowly she turned around and ventured behind the keep, behold a lone grave forgotten to all but two individuals. Duilliath had stooped down on one knee, brushing off the moss and vines that had made the grave their home. She had kissed the palm of her hand and placed it on the headstone.  Her voice portraying the tear that would threaten to spill out at any given moment "I am your widow now, while you sleep with our ancestors, I continue to move onward and fight for our people and the innocent lives of Middle-Earth."   Her teeth sinking down into her bottom lip and behold a single tear had shed, the first one in many years.  "You will continue to sleep my husband and your sacrifice for our child, will never be forgotten by me."  Still stooped down by the grave she had continued to speak "You warned me, you told me it was foolish for our kind to wed, I knew the price and look where it has led now."  After several moments of silence she had rose once more doing what she could to resist the urge to weep bitterly, she did not just lose a spouse, but her dearest friend.   Taking off a simple golden wedding band, she had bent down briefly once more to place it atop the grave.  "A piece of me even in death."  Taking a deep breath of the night air she was silent again for a spell.  Then stated "I am alone."
