A Time in Lórien I

Second Age; year 1710…

It had been nine years since Sauron’s defeat in Middle-Earth. Eregion was destroyed, Imladris established and secure. Before that occurred, Undómion had only a few times interacted with the dwarves of Khazad-Dûm, and heard about the great forests over the mountains. Were they like the grand forests of Beleriand? The forest Lórinand was near to the mountains…was it like the Andram in any way, just with more forest instead of plain? Some Noldor were heading east…perhaps going there would give Undómion new purpose. Besides, he has not yet seen those lands. He and his brother traveled over the Misty Mountains and crossed the borders…

            “Aridhor, I am questioning coming here now.”

“Chickening out are you, brother?” Aridhor laughed, “What is making you uneasy?”

“…The Silvan are not…familiar with us, yet? Us as in our kin…”

“I would not worry too much, Thúlendil.”

‘How can you not be worried?’ Undómion thought while they travelled across the land. The elf respected the Laiquendi and their abilities…the Silvan must be similar in some way. This land and its people were foreign to him.

They at least were familiar with some outsiders, ever since political relationships were made. Still, it is a bit unnerving…at least for him.

“Come, let us meet back here after a few days-let us wander…and see if we can be noticed.”

Undómion hardly had any chance to say anything in response before Aridhor was off. Undómion was not overly unnerved at being left alone; he was used to that, during the time when Nargothrond was strong. If Túrin didn’t convince them to drop stealth…surely Nargothrond would have stood against the forces of Morgoth! There was no point in dwelling on that now. A new land…

The Mellyrn were marvelous…and the evening was especially grand.
