Captain's Quick Report: Harvest Tales - Songs and Stories of the Harvest

When but simple words can spirit you away during the telling, and mysteriously conjure a magical sense of being there; as events unfold through the story-teller or singer, or even poet -- there is none quite like that comfort and joy to be born along for the journey, among good hearts whom also listen with attentive interest with you.  And this ol' travelling representative of the Bree Captain's Guild had more than generous helpings of it than he surely ever had hoped for, upon the ending of this day's 'Harvest Tales - Songs and Stories of the Harvest'.

Merely hours ago, did this telling of stories, poems, and songs conclude, with fine Hobbits of the story-craft, poem-craft, and song-craft taking to front of the gathered audience to perform or share their piece.  Taking place just by the northern end of the Appledores, which itself is an orchard of apple trees upon the western side of what Hobbits deem 'The Hill', there was much wonders and whisking away of the audience, if such truth could be said, by those telling the stories, poems, and singing songs.

Miss Nannie, the known organizing Hobbit of these oft seasonal gatherings for all Shire-folk, and even visitors from beyond, once again helped bring together a gathering of good-spirited folk with a knack for sweeping us off our feet to tales of old, of the silly, and of times past.

An outstanding gathering this Bree Captain is most honored to have attended, and if there is to be another, it cannot arrive soon enough.

With this day concluded on such good tidings, I must finish arranging the packaged collections of rough drawings and sketchings to accompany this early report for the Archives, and then be on my way southwards from here in Hobbiton... there is the 'OAKS present Thorn and Roses' musical concert spectacle to witness in another few days time, and I shan't want to miss it!  Particularly when rumours of how outstanding the last month's OAKS was, complete with gossip that someone even captured some sort of moving pictures of it all as well, confirming the fine showmanship many have continued to speak of to this day!

Overview Collection

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot (AND A LOT this time around) of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading.

Extra Note: Not every word and every line from the stories/songs/words spoken from each story-teller are shown in the screenshots below!  I tried hard to capture as many as I could, but there was inevitably a few lines here and there that passed me by -- drats!  For the most part however, I think about 80% of each story-teller's tale is shown in the screenshots, so you should get a decent gist of it all!  Use it as an incentive to come out next time and experience the entire thing!

Extra Note #2: All credit to the original authors/creators of these stories, poems, and songs shown in these screenshots below!  Wonderful creativity and story-telling/singing! ))
