War in the North: Prologue - Fires over Kingsfell

The thatched roof of the farmer's house caught fire quickly, as the Orcs eagerly torched it. Screams sounded over the destroyed fields as one of the green skinned Orcs pulled two women along, cruelly dragging them along at their hair. "These two got some spirit, Chief!" He threw them in front of a tall, black skinned, heavily muscled Orc that leaned on his greatsword, with some blood still dripping from his chin. He gave the green skinned Orc a vicious smile after he gave the two women an inspecting glance. "They sure look fine, Targrûsh! Where did you find them?" While the large Orc spoke, he kneeled down and roughly grabbed the youngest woman her chin, turning her head to inspect her more closely. "They hid behind some old ruin, Duggâsh. A silly human tried to defend them, but he now lays dead on the ground, rotting to provide a feast for crows."

Duggâsh, a warchief from the Tarkrîp clan, growled at the words of his right hand. "We'll keep these two, for now. Perhaps we can sell them to one of those Hillmen tribes. Oh well, we'll find use for them." With a dismissive wave of his hand, he stood up, signalling his guards, two heavily armoured Orcs, to carry the women away. Kicking and cursing out loud, the were dragged away over the scorched earth and the blood drenched soil. Several bodies littered the field, and even one Ranger lay between them. Duggâsh walked over to the body of the fallen Ranger, looking down at it. "Take this body with us. His flesh shall be our dinner tonight, boys!"  The small yet heavily armoured group roared at these words, gathering and grabbing everything that seemed of any use to them. A silent gesture of Duggâsh was enough to send the group of around twenty Orcs forward, their heavy steps pounded the earth as they made their way back to their camp.

"One more farm plundered" Duggâsh thought. "Let's see if the Rangers will react soon. And if they would, oh, we will be ready. I, and my brave warriors alongside me. It is time the Tarkrîp would finally rise to power. The power we fought for so hard, and for which we bled for more than the other tribes. But now our time has come. Now, my time has come!"
