Dunland mewn stwr (Dunland in uproar)

As Pren looks down at the map some more, the Gap of Rohan catches his eye. Grumbles soon follow as he starts to remember of the tales he has been told and the war ongoing.

It has been many generations ago since the men of the Dinas-Carreg (Stone City) gave our old homeland to the strawheads. Rohan they called it.. the Rohirrim... they called these invaders. The lands of my ancestors.. the cyfoethog -tir (Rich-land).. our land. The invaders drove us to the hills, that is when our hatred started for them and it hasn't gone since.. only grown. As we dwell in the hills of Dunland, they build on our cartref-tir (home-land) and ruin the gwastadeddau gwyrdd (green plains).

A few generations ago, Freca went to take back our lands though it had been tried before. The dynion gwallt gwellt (straw hair men) follow a king, one greedy man who has our lands to himself. Freca knew of this, and made claims of him being related to a brenin ceffyl (horse king). Freca tried to make a deal with a man named Helm, that the man's daughter would marry Wulf, Freca's son. The dynion ceffyl (Horse man) took Freca out of the village and with one punch of his fist killed Freca.. a forgoil killing a brenin (chief) of the dunmen. Helm then declared Wulf and all dunlendings enemies of the horse kind.

A couple of winters passed after Freca's death and Wulf had been gathering dunlendings to take back our home-land. Wulf and his army marched against Rohan and took the Neuadd-Brenin (King-Hall/Edoras) where Wulf sat as the new brenin of our rightful land. The dynion ceffyl (horse men) fled to the large stone hall in the hills, they called it the Hornburg. Wulf lodged his axe in Helm's son infront of the Neuadd Mawr (Big hall).

The gaeaf hir (long winter) was around when Wulf had taken our lands back, starving Helm and his men in the Hornburg with small groups going out to get food. Soon killed, Helm's second son was also killed by a dunlending this way. The horn of the place would often blow and every time it did, Helm would slay my kind with his hands alone. One time, he didn't return and died in the snow standing. Though the legends go that his spirit still goes through the camps and throttle the men to death.

Helm's nephew, Frealaf, sneaked into the Neuadd Mawr (Big hall) and killed Wulf before driving us dunlendings back into the hills.. for the second time.

In more recent years, the White-Wizard named Saruman came to near Dunland and told us things that the ceffyls (Horses/Rohirrim) would do. They would burn their captives alive, they would slaughter the dunlendings like animals at any chance they get and that they even eat both their own kind and wildmen. The words of the Dewin-Gwyn (White-Wizard) got many dunlendings under his banner of a Llaw-Gwyn (White-Hand). Raiding parties, burning the scars they made on the once tiroedd gwyrdd (green lands) of our ancestors. Killing the men that drove us to the hills twice. Now we await the promised cyrch-mawr (big raid) that will give us our lands back to the dunlendings and from the hands of the ceffyls.
