As Pren enters the study he sits at a table, the sound of snoring from passed out drinkers the only thing being heard in the hall. At the table would be a book, filled with maps. As the wildman flicks through them, the wastelands of Angmar, the Ice-bay of Forochel and The Greenwood, he stops as he comes to one he recongises the most. A map of Dunland and Enedwaith with a bit of the Gap of Rohan along the bottom. Memories of his people and the land start to flow through his mind..
A stunted race of man, not many men reaching over five foot and four inches and not many woman reaching over five foot. Their skin is tanned from the life they live in the hot sun that covers most of Dunland, their skin often bears markings of tattoos; symbols of a clan or something related to them most often. Along with their tattoos, warpaint is a common thing among the Dunlendings of many colours though blue, red and black are the most common in the clans. Their hair is a dark shade, brown or black usually. Their hair is wild, messy and unkempt and very often dirty. Much alike their hair their beards are also messy and dirty though they can vary in size.
Their clothing is often of fur and leather, from any animal they can find be it wolf, bear, goat or dog. Though in the hotter months of the year, not many items of clothing are worn in the hot climate. When they go for a raid or a battle they wear an armour made from boiled and treated leather called Kurbul, this too is painted with war paint to make them look more fierce. Some dunlendings carry trophies of bone or small bits of armour, the Brenin tend to have these more than the others. Barely any jewellery is worn though the Brenin may again wear some.
Though they are short they are strong both physically and mentally, they are a fierce lot of men and use their bravery to fight. They give out warcries, shouts and blow horns all to lift the spirts of the men whilst also making the enemy fear them. Too outsiders of the lands, they are thought of to be savage men.
They believe in the spirits of the world as do other men, otherwise the Derudh would have no use. The Derudh are a men and women that are selected from the clan to go to their own encampment with other Derudh to please and calm the spirits of the lands and seek their guidance. The Huntsman also is known to the dunlendings and he is supposedly to have a grand hall of animals in the Mournshaws. In more recent years, some clans though mainly the Dragon and Falcon clan may of started to believe in Melkor after the words of the White Wizard to them.
