The Duel, the Rendezvous, and the Thief
To say Chaney was over the moon would be an understatement. She had to conceal these feelings though. The only two people whom knew of this was Chaney and Fiontann themselves.
He had not responded and said the words to Chaney, but to her she did not care. She was spending time with the man she loved and that’s all that was important to her.
The next day would prove a little awkward mind, there was the meeting in the Prancing Pony. More f0lk than Chaney would have hoped for, or liked for that matter.
There was herself, Fiontann, Ostergo, whom was Fiontann’s longtime friend. A woman she had not met but clearly from the Dawn, and another man she had not before, again clearly from the Dawn.
She felt, however, inside herself able to sit with them. She didn’t care, she was with the man she loved. That was the most important thing in the whole world to her right now, being with him. Although they did not show their feelings for each other in public. Not yet anyways.
It would be later that evening after Chaney and Fiontann had, had a rendezvous outside the North Gate of Bree. He had called it a spar, she had simply thought it a perfect time to show her man that she was no walkover in a duel.
Deorgast, Fiontann’s other longtime friend had shown up and in a funny way gave his support to Chaney. Even stating to Fiontann to watch himself, that she was a dangerous one.
Deorgast had even at one point laughed at Fiontann for putting himself in this situation. However, when he had dissapeared and left Chaney and Fiontann alone to spar, she would shock him again.
As she came in for a move, he had thought she was going to attack, she far too swiftly for his eyes, had zipped in between his outstretched arms and wrapped her arms around him and had said………”kiss me “
A little shocked at first he would respond by tenderly embracing her, and they shared another kiss. They were however not alone, although neither of them knew at the time.
Later that evening after they had spent some time in The Comb and Wattle Inn in Combe, Chaney and Fiontann had taken a stroll, hand in hand down to Staddle Lake. It was here they were unexpectedly joined by a young girl. Another thief as Chaney had put it. Chaney was certainly impressed by how this girl had been able to sneek up on them.
The girls name was Allissa, and from what Chaney could gather, the girl was far from home and had no family around. Their brief rendevous had been interupted, however Chaney was content to be sat in the arms of her man.
By night’s end Chaney and Fiontann had come back to his house, it was here she would stay from now on as she had stated earlier in the Inn that she hated sleeping rough under the large fire in the Dawn Hall’s main hall.
Ever the gentleman Fiontann had allowed Chaney to sleep in his bed, whilst he stayed out in the hall by the fire. But Chaney wanted him to stay with her.
They would share another tender moment together before retiring for the night. Chaney would fall asleep that night in his arms. It was the happiest, and most content she had felt for a long time.
She felt safe, she felt loved,…………………….she felt home….
