The falling of the leaves in the period before winter, is caused by the goddess Tivry. Her, being the goddess of beauty, love, life and healing, takes a special interest in the trees and flowers. Each and every leaf, flower and stem from a plant is hand-made by Tivry, with her special love and attention. And when they fall, she believes they have lived their lives as best they may, and now will satisfy her own interests in making the next bloom of plants more beautiful than the last. She is often known to challenge the other gods to make even more beautiful plants, such as the god of war, Tuvnos. When she challenged him to make a new flower, he scoffed at first, but due to this being a challenge he had to honour it. So from his hand came the mighty Cactus, and to make sure he both kept his warrior-honour, it was adorned with the sharpest spikes from his sharpest spears, and a flower atop red as the blood of his enemies. Tivry, however, took a more delicate approach. She knew of which plant the god of war would make would be less great than what she would make, for she was the god of beauty. She made the rose, which had the flower which could be red as the blood of flesh, or blue as the clearest sky. It too, was adorned with thorns, however they were more subtle. They would surprise the one of whom would dare harm her flower. When Tuvnos showed her his plant, she scoffed, and even laughed. She dismissed his plant, but Tuvnos wouldn’t allow his plant to be pushed aside. He would win. So he took his plant, and the rest he would eventually make, to the hardiest area to live, the deserts of Harad. His plants were strong, and mighty. They would outlive the very creatures of this desert, by using the weapons from his own armoury that he bestowed upon them. Tivry, however, took her beautiful, lush green plants and placed them wherever she wished, upon the tips of mountains, clear fields, dark swamps. But not the deserts. For there was no one to behold the beauty, life and love she’d bestowed upon the plants, in the desert.
