It was late in the afternoon when Fiontann went a walk to Rossethor and Nimeway's house. They live just down the street where his house is, so, he went there to see their newborn baby, Beriadan, and take a look at him and her mother since Ross had to be away for some time due to a job. He found the two ready to take a walk and he joined them. On the way he held Beriadan, played with him and chatted with Nime. While talking he noticed how much Nime has changed, how much those parent feelings overwhelmed her and how she was looking at her son, though, she was eager to return in action again. She told him that she hoped that Hardoleth would assign her to a job soon. Soon, as Fion was playing with Beriadan in his arms Deorgast came from up the road, he living close too.
He was about to go hunting, so Fion went with him wanting to see in action his so-called skills in hunting. They galloped through whole Bree-land and got to the North Chetwood forest, filled with grass and tall trees. They left the horses rest freely on the grassy plains just at the edge of the forest and continued on foot. They hit a big buck and two coneys, Deor proving himself to Fion, though he never doubted him, as his hits were precise and the animals didn't feel pain even for one moment, as the were dropping instantly after the his arrows found their target. The night was falling and they decided to light a small fire and have some turtle soup, since there were many big turtles around. Fion tasted it for the first time and liked it, Deor was a good cook. They left the area before midnight, Deor went to the pony and Fion went home, he wanted to make dinner for Nellye. He was planning to make dinner for them so, now it was the right time for it. He cooked the buck and the coney just before Nel showed up, breathtaking as ever, with the rose he sent her in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other. They dined and spent the night together, enjoying each other's company, while waiting for a new job, which came some days later...
Fion met Hyrien and The Grey Warden at the Dawnhall, they were to set out to the North and find a caravan of Hobbits, which has gone missing. To his surprise Nel was assigned to that job as well, meaning that they would spend another day together, as fighters this time, fighting side by side. The task was easy and the band retrieved what they had to without much difficulty and return to the Dawnhall. Where they found Neyaa burning some sheets and couging from the smoke, after making sure she is well hey left her and Hyr upstairs talking, and Fion and Nel, along with the newcomer to the Hall, Deor had some ale downstairs. After that the two went home and enjoyed each other's company again, after a day full of fight and ale.
The night was coming to an end and Fion had Nel in his arms contemplating how happy he was now that they were officially together after Falarthin and Edhelong's wedding. But what they saw in Ost Alagos clouded his thoughts, Orc encampments everywhere, getting close to Bree day by day. He already knew that, since, he has gone scouting some months ago in that area, but now the camps were more... And more Orcs were roaming the desert, to the edge of the Chetwood forest. Something dark was coming, he knew that, the only reason he was afraid of it was the fact that it could cause him to lose her. And he knew he wouldn't bear it, losing her and his friends in that darkness. He caressed her face as he removed a strand of her golden hair. He looked at her sleeping face and brought his lips closer to kiss her forehead. He looked at his sword and shield lying near the bed, knowing that soon he may have to use them to defend those he loves. Maybe even before that night was over...
