It was just after sunrise and Fiontann was making ready to leave, he packed some clothes and food for the road, along with a flask of water. He sat on the chair in his office and read the letter once again. He was about to leave for Esteldin, in the letter it was said that orcs and goblins have came out of the forest and begun attacking fiercely, more than ever and the place needed as much forces possible to defend itself. He was one of those that were hired to fight alongside the rangers of the North Downs.
He emptied the tankard of the containing ale and looked at it for some moments, something held him from standing up, he did not know what, it just held him there, looking at the empty tankard. At last he stood up and folded the letter, he put it in his glove and closed the bag with his things. He got out of the office and headed towards the bedroom, Nellye was sleeping on his bed, he invited her a couple of days ago to live there. She had nowhere to go and he had some room if she would accept it, which she happily did. He stood leaning on the doorcase looking at her, the fireplace was lit and her face was gleaming from the fire, he looked at her for some moments thinking of the time they spent together. It made him feel full inside, and complete, he smiled as she yawned in her sleep and thought that now that he found her he must leave... "I will return." he said in his thoughts, "I will return no matter what.". and left her sleeping.
He took the cloak from the armchair in the main hall and put it on, then he proceeded to the office to take the bag, then he sheathed his sword and put his shield on his back, carrying the great axe with his left hand. Carefully he opened the front door and closed it as he exited the house silently not to wake her up and made his way to his horse, Bertnar. He strapped the bag on the left side of the saddle and the tightened the shield on his back securing the sword hanging from his lower back, then he strapped the great axe on the right side of the saddle to be able to grab it quickly in case of need. He was ready to go, he turned his head and looked at the tree, where some hours ago he was sitting with Nellye and slowly galloped down the road, a job was waiting, dangerous than the others, but now, he had someone to return to.
