I asked her of how we had met since I could not quite remember. I felt rude just asking her but lying, especially to a woman, was never quite my forte. She laughed as she set her lute down on the stage and proceeded to sit down next to me and began to explain the story of how we had met.
"You were on your horse and almost ran over me as I stumbled from the ale hall. I looked up and saw your handsome face and staggered backward laughing and blew you a kiss as you rode off"
"You were going to ride away but got intrigued ...and came back to look at the maiden who had thrown a kiss to you"
"I looked up at you on your horse and said, "what do you want , handsome?" and giggled"
"You told me that you wanted me to be more careful and stay out on the road then you inclined your head toward me and turned and rode away"
"I was surprised when I ran into you later at the crafting area in Celondim and you remembered me"
"And that is how we met each other"
As she spoke of our meeting the memories came flooding back into my mind as the festival was an exciting and fun-filled adventure for me as I had spend most of it playing with my daughter, Jinoa, and the rest of it drinking at the tavern games with my best friend Bruuce and my grandfather, Xbeus.
I sat up from the stage and walked slowly away from where she sat and was facing the Prancing Pony as I stretched with my arms out in the air as I told her how I was very happy I had stopped and that I was even more happy that my horse, Lonita, didn't crush her before I had the chance to see her lovely face or experience her exquisite music.
"Haha, that's right! I remember now, I had also been drinking that day as I had been challenged earlier by Bruuce to a drinking contest and to be honest, he won", I laughed.
"And of course I recognized you again in Celondim as I have only been around a few women other than my daughter and at that time you still had the same friendly smile", I smirked and then smiled as I continued on,
"I never forget a face"
"I still remember your red hair was brushed back and her cute freckles as we stopped that day at the smithy and just talked and stared at each other, that was a nice moment"
She looked at me again and blushed. This made me smile and I was happy that we had become friends. In this world the times have been tough and I am happy that we are able to take the time to enjoy the little things that remind us of exactly what we are fighting for.
