The Sleepless Nights

"I remember that day, I remember when change had come to me when I did not expect it, nor did I wish it. Though this change has brought about many greater things upon my life."

"It was a summer's afternoon like any other. The cool breeze of winding flowing through my hair as I sat upon the roof top of my home within the town. Though, this was not the first time I had sat there, it had become a habbit of my young-self, it was almost daily when I would climb upon the cart that was often left at the front of the house in which I had lived, it bore crates often filled with food that had been grown in the crops just outside of town. I climbed the cart, then I would reach for a firm beam which comes down from the roof. This was not an easy task for a child of my age, I would struggle to make my way on it as I was not as tall back then as I am today. But, I always found a way up the beam and crawled my way to the utmost top where I would rest my back against the chimney as I gazed upon the beauty of the sunset...."

"Mother did not approve of this, but she allowed it..."

It was at that moment which Awiergan slowly opened his eyes. Only to the utter dark of his room, for the sun had not risen yet nor were the birds singing their merry tunes as they would. He woke to the dark of night and it would be complete silence if it was not for the crickets outisde.

He closed his eyes again and rested his head upon the soft pillow, though unable to fall asleep once more. His body would be cold even under the covers of his blanket, though he awaited patiently till he saw the faintest light coming through his window. He had then risen and went through the day as he would usually, but would he sleep through the entire night?
