Within the late hours of the night Awiergan sat up and was still awake.

The house was dark and the hearth was hot, but Awiergan felt cold. 

Sitting upon his bed he intertwined his fingers and stared deep into the dark reaches of the night. He kept thinking, and thinking, and thinking.

His wife lay sound asleep nearby, she had not once noticed his restlessness that has been gripping her husband of late. Yet in the days he would sleep long. 

This tale dates back to a few weeks before Awiergan's birth. His father was Ræsgan, and his mother was Fægwyn, both of them lived happily in a warm home within the solid walls of Snowbourn, strong was the love they had for each other and never did it seem to dim, even when they were parted by short distance or many leagues away.
