Paying Tribute to the Lost Horses

Winter, Herne. After all that had happened with Ryheric's chestnut colt Boltin in Rohan, and hearing Tarsorel speak about the ill fate of Grace, it occurred to Ryheric that while Boltin received a proper send-off from Brynleigh of Rohan, none of the other horses lost from his company in the last two years had received proper acknowledgment. Going with his gut, he detoured the group off the road and led them to the river. Small floating shrines were made and set adrift.

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

In the dark of night, Ryheric had gone with Tarsorel to hunt a beast. A creature the local farmers called rabid. Or, they spoke of it like a demon. On hushed tones, making superstitious gestures.

There had even been a rumour or two it was an Enemy of the free folk. A man, a foreigner with a curved blade who guised himself as a bard, responsible. Rumours of bloodlust not natural for the peace-loving Breefolk. Someone had planted the idea. Tarsorel knew it. Ry knew it. It stayed unmentioned between them.

Drunken Shenanigans

Whiskey. Wine. Ale. Tankard after tankard. Flask. Bottle.

How much did they have to drink? It was a blur, but that was alright.

It was time to rest and revel after the long, violent, unspoken journey Ryheric had taken to Rohan.

Emmie was in on the drinking. So was Sicarra. Tarsorel was buying. It was going to be a night of mischief, mayhem and reckless shenanigans!

----Several months earlier than the present----
His accent was suddenly Gondorian, reminiscent of Minas Tirith natives as he addressed the old soldier. His tone like lead.
"
Tarsorel, I challenge you to a duel. To first blood. Any weapons allowed."
It appeared that someone had finally taught Ryheric the proper, socially acceptable way to settle a score using violence.

They gathered somewhere warm after the snowball fight, and enjoyed their second yearly feast together. Tribute was paid to their lost comrade Aidennan, and those who could not join them, or those whose paths had led them elsewhere. The company was good, and the journey looked promising ahead.

Gondor Soldier (Tarsorel's Song)

Gondor Soldier - Click to Listen

A theme for Tarsorel, the former Soldier of Gondor. Ryheric played this piece on his lute while thinking of Tarsorel the ex soldier of Gondor. Once leading a "normal" life, it was ravaged and torn apart by violence and war, long absences from his family and simple dreams since forgotten. The soldier having nothing left, turned to the bottle for comfort... and while he spent some time in fugue and darkness, has begun to re-emerge to renewed life, new allies and second chances.
