Through many years wolves have been one of the biggest enemies of the free people of Bree, so it seems only natural to start with an investigation of legends involving them.

Fraethwyn leaned heavily against the oaken doorway, peering into the deepening dusk. “Where could he be?” she murmured under her breath. A strong calloused hand rested itself on her shoulder.

“He will be back soon. He always is.”

“I know, but… why does he insist on staying out so late?” She laid her own hand on that of her husband’s, who stood behind her. “It’s not safe…” she said, her voice barely a whisper.

With a few belongings and a selection of tools Flory arrived in the village of Brockenboring. She had heard tales from the other Tooks of Tuckborough about the Hobbits of Brockenboring, mainly that they spent most of their time looking after their sheep and that they were only marginally more intelligent than those same Sheep.
