Outward Appearance

Lotiavien is average as constitution, in no way remarkable, a fact aiding her in the missions she undertakes. Her face looks as ageless as those of most elves and the outfit she chooses at a time is one helping best to lose in the crowd, one common feature of all outfits being the hooded cloaks she always matches to her outfit when traveling, with hood ample enough to hide her face when needed. Her hair is dark blond, with a shade of reddish, like the leaves of pear trees in mid autumn, proof of mixed heritage. Locks rebelliously torn away from an elaborate enough hairdo show she uses the hood of her cloak often and give a hint her hair is rather thick and heavy then silky and easy to model as blond hair is usually. Her eyes are pale green but not the cold color of emeralds but more that of the leaves in autumn in the first stages of yellowing. The name Lothiavien -approximatively translating as autumn flower- is the name acquired in this age due perhaps to the colors of her hair and eyes or perhaps for the melancholy in her eyes without a clear cause, like the sorrow the autumn brings to many seeing the beauty of the summer fading into the silence of winter. A common name good for an errand bearer meant to pass unnoticed to her destination.

Background

Lothiavien was born in 2357 S.A., as the second child of Amrunsilim, a noldor of the retinue of lady Galadriel and Erynobell Tharvronlindir from Lothlorien who later was known as Tugladlindir in the Havens at Lindon, skilled woodwrigth among those aiding Cirdan in his task. The name her father announced for her was Silimiel, daughter of light, and the name her mother picked for her -one she never liked -was Cugugwend (dove-maiden). Her older sister was called Midhaur, or by her mother name Myrfaen, meaning white seagull, perhaps with the forsigth she will be the first to leave Middle earth to search the beauty of Valinor. Midhaur married and had 4 children, of which a daughter, Nylliel became a bard whose songs on the heroic times of old were greatly loved in Lorien. Of her bloodline Dringoadriel Eararwen, Driadriel for the Edain who found her name too complex, was also a minstrel of the court of Lorien for many years and later an ambassador among those assigend to search allies for the endangered Greenwood the Great. Driadriel fell victim to an Orchish arrow in the battles in Mirkwood. Lothiavien's younger brothers, Cirdamir and Caradin were born after Amrunsilim and Erynobell moved to Lindon and lived there for long with their parents, distance and difference of temper and interests making the bothers fail in becoming very close to the reclusive Lothiavien. Amrunsilim was in service of lady Galadriel since she was living in the Telerin city Alqualondë. She followed her Lady to Middle Earth and escaped along with Galadriel, Celebrian and others of their kin in 1697 S.A. from the attack of Sauron against Ost-in-Edhil,the capital city of Eregion(Hollin), through the mines of Moria, eventually reaching Lothlórien. Falling in love with Erynobell she asked her Lady's permission to remain in Lothlorien while Galadriel left soon after and lived for many years in other parts of the Middle earth before returning as ruler of Lorien. Lothiavien remarked herself only by the strange skill of not remarking herself. Intelligent but rather introverted, not remarkably beautiful, of average talent in all the arts and skills taught to elven youth, few knew her well as few ever noticed her. Too proud to seek the attention she was not spontaneously receiving unlike her brothers and sister -who inherited more of the grace and talent for music and art of their parents as well as their mother's beauty- Lothiavien was rather reclusive from young age, subtly ironic at times, melancholic and lonely. She dedicated her time to most various occupations, not a master of any but of decent skill in many, a thing that will help her assume roles as needed later. With the return of Lady Galadriel in Lothlorien to rule from 1981 T.A., the wisdom of the queen of Noldor saw in Lothiavien, the daughter of her loyal Amrunsilim, the potential of a useful messenger and observer. A chameleonic elf, naturally passing unnoticed in the most unusual surroundings. In the times to come Lothiaviel carried errands as a messenger of the Court of Lorien to more or less important figures of the races of Men -those few that managed to keep the friendship of the Eldar- the Dwarfs or the Elves of the other settlements surviving in Middle Earth, yet rarely if ever going beyond her mission and getting any attention on herself. The silent bearer of a letter or even the voice repeating a message will rarely be remembered.
