| Outward Appearance | Sigolfr is a finely dressed man who hails from northern Gondor, a minor line of nobility that has settled in Ethring. His beardless face is framed by strands of dark hair that have been cropped; seemingly at the edge of a knife, if one is to judge by the haphazard work. He often dons hooded cloaks or cowls to soften the blemish of his wayward hairstyle. Beneath the shadow of his cloak, one would find brown eyes flecked with gold like honeyed mead, a set of full lips, and high and rounded cheekbones that only add to his royal regard.
He is no soldier and does not move with the stiff march of a trained knight; he is shorter in stature but larger in mind. His frame is lean and swift, with sharp collarbones and smaller limbs fit for the scholarly life in lore halls, rather than the callouses of a warrior. Seemingly delicate and spoiled, he is not bothered by the likes of men who would try to tower over and intimidate him.
His clothes are of the southern fashion; finely threaded and of princely affair, and he jealously guards his belongings. His sword seems to glimmer like an elf-blade of old, and it stays firmly strapped at his hip as he travels. He dresses in shades of greens and blues, pale and soft enough to stand in stark contrast to his features. When he greets others, it is always with a smile. |

Background
Personality
Sigolfr, though clever and learned, speaks plainly among his friends. Despite this, having been raised with some noble privilege, he is no stranger to court politesse and has experience with balancing diplomatic relations. He is well traveled in the eastern reaches of Middle-Earth--his mother's line being from Dale, and having made frequent trips north--though he has a great wanderlust for the things that lay beyond Ered Nimrais.
Though a scholarly man--not a soldier like his father, or uncle, or cousins--Sigolfr is hardly learned a master of any one school of study. He has a proficiency in the histories of Numenor and elven lore, but otherwise he flits from thought to thought, studying what he pleases and dallying in anything else. As a scholar--or, more aptly, a dilettante--he often succumbs to his own passions, and lets them lead his steps across the library or the world.
Background
Raised as a son in the second noble line of Ethring--his cousin being the heir to Ringló Vale--Sigolfr was born into a life of relative comfort. Rather than throw himself into the arts of war, from a young age, he preferred a quill to a sword and a book to a shield. His cleverness grew in tandem with his mischief, and eventually his mother realized that she could not mind him entirely on her own.
As a boy he was sent for long stretches to the north, the Dale-lands, where his mother's family could teach him their history and their lore. Wholly Northman and Gondorian, he packed up his own bags once he was a man grown and went to Minas Tirith to study lore--albeit he was younger than most, as brawnier boys would take to the soldier's life.
His quick wit proved just as valuable as a sword and shield during the War of the Ring, as he was able to assist his father and grandfather confidently in the matters of war tactics, stratagem, and knowledge of the possible tactics of the Enemy. With the War's conclusion, he has felt the wanderlust grow ever more potent, and his desire to know the far reaches of the Northern Kingdom of Arnor ever more pressing.
Notes
- Sigolfr is written with the intention to blend with the lore that we are given in LoTRO. At the time of the War of the Ring, Borhador is presented as Lord of Ringló Vale, and his sons are Dervorin and Arvaethor. Sigolfr is implied to be the son of Arvaethor, the younger, although I do try not to explicitly link these ties while in active roleplay.
- Sigolfr is written with the flexibility to be played in the Third Age (pre- or present War of the Ring) or the Fourth Age (post-War of the Ring). I prefer to accommodate others, so do not be afraid to announce your own timeline.
