| Outward Appearance | At just about three feet, Lottie is a bit on the smaller side for a Hobbit. With her bright red hair, she can easily be spotted in any crowd. Lottie has grey-green eyes, lots of freckles and fair skin, that lets her blush easily. Like many Hobbits, she is well rounded, but unlike most, more muscular than chubby. Even though she is quite pretty and can scrub up well on occasion, her style is usually simple and practical; the typical Hobbit lass next door. But if you happen to see the defiant look in her eyes, you might realise, she can be a force to be reckoned with. |

Background
Lottie was born as the daughter of Gerebras Took and his wife Daisy (née Banks) and she grew up on the family farm. Her early childhood days were full of love, laughter, games of adventure and bedtime stories about faraway lands, elves, dwarves and dragons. Her parents often left her in the care of her grandmother, Gammer Banks and disappeared, for days or even weeks, until they came back, full of unbelievable stories.
Until one day, they did not come back.
Lottie waited. Her usual childhood games of adventure took on a grimmer tone. Gammer Banks, who was getting on in years, found it more and more difficult to deal with the unruly child and, under the pretext of 'education', handed her over to her relatives in Tuckborough. So, Lottie moved to the Great Smials, learned her letters and numbers and met the other great love of her life: books!
The next few years, if she wasn't to be found in the library, she would usually have run off, either tagging after her band of cousins, of whom Pippin usually was the ringleader. Or even made her way all across the river to Bag End, where she joined a circle of Hobbit children who regularly pestered Old Master Baggins for tales and stories. The older she got, the wider she roamed the Shire, until in her tweens she started helping out the Bounders and the Quickpost service, just to have an excuse to be out and about.
It was around this time, that she started to use her old childhood nickname "Underfoot" as the name she introduced herself with. This pleased the rest of the Took clan, who were not too keen, to have another Took roaming around, adding to the reputation of 'oddity'.
One day Lottie was asked by Thain Paladin II, to help out with a little family problem. His son Peregrin was invited to tea with Adamanda North-Took (also known as Diamond of Long Cleeve), but it seemed he had run off with his friends to Buckland. If she please could go after him and bring him back...?
It took a while, until Lottie caught up with Pippin and his friends. And then she decided, not to bring him back, but instead, help with their errand in any way she could. For the Shire and for all of Middle Earth.
