| Outward Appearance | A tall elven lord usually seen in robes of white, gold, or pale blue, it is clear at first glance that he is not quite typically like a usual elf one might see. The greatest distinction is his hair, which flows down his back in a sheet of stunning golden-red, which is where he gets his name ("gold-fire") from. Often it is covered in several braids, threaded with jewels and golden clasps. His skin is pale and radiant, his eyes a bright green like the color of fresh spring leaves, the light of the Two Trees obvious to anyone who knows what to look for. His face is dominated by more sharp features, such as a pointed chin and high cheekbones, but his expression is rarely anything other than warm, open, and inviting. His voice is ever soft and melodious, colored with an accent (Vanyarin) unidentifiable to those not from Valinor.
His hands are soft and his fingers long and graceful, perfect for holding a needle as he works on a piece of embroidery as he likes to do by a fireplace, yet they are hands familiar with wielding weaponry and using them for destruction as well as creation. He wears two rings upon his hands: a golden band on his right index finger, and a decorated ring of silver set with a sapphire on his left ring finger. If one looks close enough at the sapphire, they would see an image of a feathered harp carved into the jewel, undoubtedly the crest of a noble house of some sort.
Lean and almost slender he looks, a frame belied also by the voluminous, flowing robes he prefers to wear when not in armor. However he is well-toned, with broad shoulders and arms that come from wielding his preferred spear, but rarely does he look naturally intimidating or imposing unless he tries to be.
You might often find him with an avian friend or two, or a dozen. He can speak to birds, so he often wanders the gardens and talks to them on his walks. |

Background
Fluent in: Vanyarin (his native tongue), Quenya, Noldorin, Sindarin, Westron
Passable, heavily accented: Valarin, Telerin

Born in Aman, Laurenaro (or Laurenáro Ránëfanyo Laurion, but he never tells anyone his full name) lived in the light of the Trees for thousands of years. His father, a prominent Vanyar lord, took a Noldo woman as his wife, leading to Laurenaro's unique golden-red hair which he lends his name to, and for why he does not look typically Vanyarin at a first glance. Even when he was young, Laurenaro looked up to his father and took many of his habits and mannerisms, and it was clear that while he was half Noldor it was his Vanyar blood that resonated most strongly inside of him.
Despite this, despite bathing in the serenity of Valmar and singing poetry at the feet of the Elder King, nothing moved Laurenaro more deeply than the singing of the Noldorin minstrel, Hotirme. His heart was immediately captured by the beauty of her song and her harp, thus he began to court her. eventually the two of them were married, and they lived in utter bliss in the Undying Lands.
But the machinations of Melkor destroyed the Trees, and Feanor stirred the Noldor into a rage and bade them to leave Aman to go to Middle-Earth. Laurenaro did not wish to leave at all and was very worried, believing that such an act would lead only to despair. But Hotirme refused to listen to him; while she did not trust Feanor, she very much wanted to see the lands of Middle-Earth and look upon their beauty. Refusing to be parted from her, Laurenaro reluctantly joined the Noldor in their exile and was part of Finarfin's host.
When Finarfin turned back, Laurenaro refused to leave with him and intead followed Finrod, crossing the Grinding Ice with the rest of the Noldor who were left behind. Eventually they reached Middle-Earth, and afterwards they spent time either serving King Finrod at Nargothrond or wandering the lands of Beleriand together.
After Nargothrond's fall, they continued their wanderings never staying in one place or with one lord for long. Many of the prominent events and battles of the First Age passed by him, as he was simply not present for the majority of them, with the exception of the War of Wrath when Laurenaro joined the Vanyar host in overthrowing Morgoth once and for all. It was from this host his eagle friend and battle companion, Hellemacil, was given to him, as she stayed behind even as the Valar and their armies drew back west.
Time has brought him to many places and to many people. Much of Middle-Earth and her lands are known to them, even if it has been hundreds of years since they last passed through a particular area.
