Two great passions in Yany's life: flowers and music. Music she enjoys as a leisure, but her love for flowers she has turned into a profession. She is a florist, often traveling far distances in search of new varieties, collecting seeds and samples to study and regrow back home. She has written 2 well received books, one on the benefits of cross pollination, and one for any self respecting gardener in pursuit of the perfect flower arrangement. Her latest work, which would be book number 3, is dedicated to herbs and healing plants.

Yany owns a small shop in Dol Amroth called 'The Rose and The Harp'. She also owns a house and a plot of land in Belfalas (Dorngur, 2 Cape Road) where she grows her flowers and fruit trees.
When she is traveling in search of new plants, her property and shop are looked after by two trusted employees. Her return is always greatly anticipated, especially by customers keen to see what new varieties she has discovered. She is well known in Dol Amroth, even at court, and has been hired on varying occasions to brighten up the castle with her beautiful flower arrangements.

Plenty of men have confessed love to Yany, yet she has rejected all suitors. She considers the flowers her children and prefers her freedom over the traditional life of a wife. She tends to smile a lot and radiates warmth, but she has a feisty as well as spoiled streak too.

When she journeys, she travels in the company of her loyal guard Farathor, a retired swan knight who suffers a slight limp from an old injury. He still still swings a sword very ably though.

Yany's travels have always been joyous, yet otherwise uneventful. Her latest journey however due to Farathor having been asked to aid the rangers, is proving quite the adventure. Neither of them had bargained for this, but Farathor feels it is his duty as a former soldier to grant what help he can.

When it comes to traveling, Yany has never been the most practical. She owns many dresses and tends to drag quite a few of them along while journeying, in fact needing an extra packhorse just for her dresses.

Farathor has been a soldier for almost all his life. He served the people of Dol Amroth faithfully for almost 30 years, steadily raising in rank through out his career, but retired from active service due to injury. He had planned to retreat to a quiet life, but found it difficult to adjust to the existence of a mere civilian. Approached by a friend and same time devoted admirer of Lady Yany, he was asked whether he could imagine to serve a woman as a guard on her travels. After some consideration Farathorn accepted the offer and has since accompanied Yany on varying excursion, yet none as far a journey as their current one, which has led them all the way to the Breelands.

He is a quiet and controlled man, usually keeping his thoughts to himself. Honour and duty mean everything to him. He once was married, before he became a soldier, but his wife died giving birth to their stillborn daughter. Those events feel a lifetime away now, they do not cause him pain anymore, but he never felt a longing to marry again.
