| Outward Appearance | Dorso is a Bracegirdle and was born in the town of Hardbottle in the Southfarthing. He is an elderly hobbit of seventy nine years of age; with eyes of a bright sky blue, curly dark-gray hair, a face that is weather-beaten and full of wrinkles obviously showing his old age and a fair skin, that has been tanned with life in the Southfarthing. He is of average size of hobbits with a round belly, stocky legs, nimble fingers and round cheeks. He appears to be taller than others and his height measures up to 3’8 - nearly reaching the usual hobbit-limit of height with four foot.
He likes to wear ‘humble’ clothing, so to speak, so nothing more than simple overalls and a straw hat perhaps would be his usual sense of attire – this reflects largely on his personality and his way of growing up. When one speaks to Dorso, they’d notice that whatever situation there happened to be, he always seems to have a grin in his face and does his best to cheer people up whenever they’re depressed. This upbeat mood always seem to be quite clear with his expression and it often can reflect on his attire, tone of voice or other matters also. Yet, if this hobbit happens to be shy then his voice can go considerably low and quiet without meaning to. |

Background
Dorso Bracegirdle of Hardbottle has been born into a family of farmers and has within his tweens worked in his family farm. Yet, he has within his tweens found a passion for poetry which caused him to aspire to be a poet over being a farmer despite him being the only male of his siblings. After his tweens, Dorso soon found work within the Grand Smials of Tuckborough where he could read a good deal of poems and literature within its extensive library however it was only in his fifth year of working in the Smials, that Dorso started to write poetry more professionally.
It wasn’t until Dorso reached his forty-seventh year that he happened to found love with Heather Chubbs and upon wedding her, he moved to Budgeford with her to live together. Such was a happy marriage yet a saddening short one. For, Dorso’s forty-ninth year was tragic as that was the year that the couple expected their baby to be born yet events took a turn for the worst as both Heather and the baby (whom they planned to call ‘Teddy’) died in the process of childbirth. This caused Dorso to be very depressed indeed and this sprung up a couple of his greatest poems on the matter.
Shortly afterwards, Dorso moved to Brockenborings to stay with one of his cousins during his ‘mourning’ which lasted until he was fifty-three – a while for grieving indeed, yet it should be said that grief is never fully recoverable thus to this day. Now, in his middle-aged years, he decided to move to Michel Delving in order to find work within the Mathom House Society after hearing grand things of the place. Dorso found himself to work there for two decades yet he retired at the age of seventy-three in order to work full-time in writing poetry or historical pieces of work; he moved back to Tuckborough in the case he should wish to visit the Library of the Great Smials again. And as of now, six years later, he still remains to be writing and has published a number of poems.
