Outward Appearance

Borcho is a hobbit of Fallohide origin and was born in the Southfarthing. He is eighty two years of age with eyes of sea green (a watery blue with a strong green tint to it that is quite visible), curly light grey hair and Caucasian skin. He is a thinish figure with a round belly whose height is around 3’6 and he has wrinkles around his eyes which represents his old age.

He likes to wear formal or rather ‘attractive’ clothing of green or yellow. This is often seen through his robe and he sometimes wears a cape to go with it. A notable thing about this hobbit is that his voice is quite high which is similar to a tween’s voice despite his age but it is unknown as to why his voice is so high. And another two things of importance is the fact that Borcho is scared of the dark (even though he would not admit so) and always sleeps with candles around him for light and the second thing would be the fact that he loathes alcohol believing it does nothing more than make people do ‘rash’ things.

Background

A Hornblower of Longbottom, it might have been expected that Borcho would have followed his forefathers in the cultivation of pipe-weed. Old Toby’s blood may run through him, but farming was not enough for Borcho. Having shown early signs of intellect, Borcho found work at the famous Mathom-house in Michel Delving. It was here that he was apprenticed in the preservation of mathoms, from which he was able to join the Mathom Society, eventually becoming a respected lifetime member. Developing a love for history and literature, he also established himself as a notable author throughout the Shire. Such is his devotion to his work and research, Borcho never married.

After recently falling on hard times, Borcho was invited by his old friend and fellow scholar, Brablo Boffin, to serve as the librarian of his smial, Boffin’s Burrow, in the village Barleywick. Returning to the Southfarthing, his birthplace, Borcho is now content to spend his twilight years caring for the library of his friend, whilst also continuing his passion as an author. In later life, he has been known to ponder upon many of life’s unanswered questions, causing many to consider him rather eccentric.
