Galvaethor was born in 1362 of the Second Age. He was the firstborn of Mallengil and Ivrellinn, shortly after their settling in the capital of Eregion, Ost-in-Edhil. After his parents were slain in the defense of Eregion against Sauron in SA 1697, Galvaethor and his siblings were among those brought to Imladris by Elrond Half-Elf. They decided to stay there and Galvaethor, now eldest of the family, named his house the Nost Hallgalad, the history of which is detailed http://laurelinarchives.org/node/7495|elsewhere. For many years he remained in Imladris, mourning the fate of his parents. He began to train the art of protecting those in need with the guardians of the refuge. But when the march of the Last Alliance against Sauron came to the vale, Galvaethor decided to join them. His heart was driven too much by vengeance for the loss of his parents, though; he became careless and was incapacitated on the fields of Dagorlad, barely saved from death himself. He returned to Imladris with other wounded and sank into contemplation, withdrawing himself from the company of other elves. Only well into the Third Age did Galvaethor regain some of his composure. He took up his training again, although he was content as a part of the worldly defense force of Lord Elrond's realm. He visited the places of revelry again, rarely at first, yet more often in time. But still there is a reluctance about him, a hesitation to act rashly. As a result of this, he speaks slowly and with sometimes uncomfortably long pauses. Recently though, whispers of the old shadow are rising again, and Galvaethor hears them. Some of the embers of revenge are slowly rekindling in his heart. How will it affect him? Has he learned to control his rashness, or is he bound to fall again? Only time will tell...
