Kinship
Outward Appearance

Tall grown, with bright sharp eyes and black hair Thangrineth could be easily mistaken for one the Noldor. Although she might have distant relations with them and belonged once to that kindred, she appears more sinister and dreadful, yet beautiful at the same time.
Garbed in black fabric or in a metal armor, so shimmering and black as pitch, can she be met, wielding a long spear.
Thangrineth's face is very fair and yet cold as the harshest of winter. The blue eyes appear to look ahead with dire strife for perfection and without a hint of mercy

Background

»Grand words, son of the horse-lords! But your kin misses the might and the cunning to come me by. I am Thangrineth, the Curse-Crowned and my kin is that of Eöl! Your hand will not fell me.«

- Thangrineth

Names & Meaning
Mornâdess [ɱornɑdæs], »Dark-haired Girl«, was her birth name.
Thangrineth ['θaŋrinæθ], »Curse-crowned-Maiden«
Egledhron ['əgleθrʌn], »The Exiled«
Dark Elf, used as epithet but not in the same use as the word Moriquendi, but rather as wandering about, and often ill-disposed towards the 'Light-Elves'.

»Camrist«,
is the sister-sword to Edhelrist, which is wielded by Thangrineth's brother Achastelion.

Thangrineth was born long ago, under the name of Mornâdess into a tribe of the Tatyar far to the east. She grew up by their now forgotten customs, under a sky that was ever lit by stars, for to that time, moon and sun had not come to existance, yet.
Together with her twin-brother, she delved into the knowledge of crafting, may it be the shaping of wood, bone or the bending of metal.

Eventually, Mornâdess led a few numbers of her kin into Beleriand and some passed into the reaches of Doriath, while others went to their distant kin, the Ñoldor, where they would serve in the ever on-going struggle against Angband.
Mornâdess was one of these Elves.
Taught by the Ñoldor in the high art of making and the wielding of the sword, she was soon appointed as bodyguard to one of the noble families.

It were such days of impending war, that Mornâdess' brother was captured by the enemy and she ventured forth to set him free -- to a great cost that would ever define her fate.
In the exchange for the life of her beloved brother, Mornâdess was supposed to deliver the lord and his troops on a false route into an ambush and loving her own kin more than the lofty Ñoldor, she complied; The Elves were slain, Mornâdess was taken captive by the orcs and tortured and forced to serve along with her brother in the deep mines beneath Angband.

Mornâdess after she had fled from Angband with the remains of her kin. Forth on, she was called Thangrineth by the Ñoldor and the Sindar. Today, she still uses that name.

However, eventually the scourged Elf could escape together with what was left of her family and kin. As they returned to the Ñoldor, they were shunned, no longer welcome and proclaimed to be scapegoats having to bear all the suffering for their deeds alone.
That was the day that Mornâdess was called to the first time Thangrineth. That name she adapted to remember the unlove she received that time and ever after.

»Hear me now, ælfwicce! For I have heard you many times, you oft speak hatefully and now I am certain that you oft do wrongly to get what you desire!«

- Redwick

Achastelion, as Thangrineth's brother was now called, rallied with her behind the Blue Mountains, for he had slain Elves in Doriath with the sons of Fëanor. With him he brought his own sword Edhelrist and a blade for his sister that he named Camrist.
Like Eöl, the twins began to shun the sun-light, dwelled in remote, lightless abodes for nearly two ages, not caring for the concerns of Men, Dwarves or Elves.
Only seldom they came out to meet with the scattered rest of their Dark Elven kin.
In that time, Thangrineth came to be hated among the Folk of Durin, for she stole devices and plans from them, while the Elves began to pity her.

It was now, to the end of the Third Age, that she took up her heraldry again, aiming to gather all of her spread kin and to form an enclave for them to dwell in -- not only to defend themselves easier from the growing threat in the east, but also to rise to a significant power once again.
She and her brother seek artifacts of great potential to empower themselves. Doing so, they seem to make more enemies than friends.
