| Outward Appearance | Redwick 'Strongarm', the Red-Robin of Jarnsalr, renowned drinker of Snowbourn, son of Ceobrand of the Folde...
A long title adorns this fellow, but to put it simply: (Réodwēoce in his own tongue, translated into the common as Redwick) or 'Red' is a young Eorling hailing of the Folde whence his father raised him upon his farm. He is the son of farmer made captain, though he hadn't the will to follow in his father's footsteps.
He speaks through a thick Rohirric accent. His features still young and oft lit up with a mischievous smirk. He is light upon his feet, very athletic, swift and fairly light weight. Though his muscles have been seasoned through both experience and training. He is no man to be underestimated, even if he stands a bit shorter than the average male of the Rohirrim.
Commonly found with a drink in the one hand and among some company which he deems to be interesting; very often finding himself in mischievous conversations with them which tend to irk those who put their ears into it. A suitable punishment for eavesdropping at any rate. His sharp green eyes see well in the dark, but it is bettered with his bow at hand. Spending the countless hours of when he had found himself bored and turning to practice his bowmanship has made him quite the competent and keen archer. Swift in moving his hands and swift to take aim upon his targets. One might find Redwick's laughter of an irritating sort, for he laughs with good mirth and he tends to do so very loudly when merry. And once he is started it is difficult to stop him. Many may recall Redwick with short flaxen messy hair(Not dirty, mind you, just untended). For he once kept it so, solely because he had once asked a group lassies, 'What think you makes me look all the more handsome? If my hair was long or if it were kept short?' And they felt that they liked it short as it were. But in time he had forgotten of such things and allowed his mane to grow long. Though the thing that he still ever forgets is to comb it.
He wears a green mantle loosely held together with a bronze brooch which contains the emblem of the Sutcrofts upon it. The same emblem can also be found upon his belt and decorations upon Unforht, his steed.
His nickname 'Red' was given to him by his friends in Snowbourn who each had a nickname for one another but they use those names now as their common title.
Also known as:
Redwick almost always wears his tunic! Which is why it is quite torn in many places due to the several troubles he has been through. He wears two makeshift fingerless gloves on each hand made of bandage, it often attracts many foul things that he may have grasped, a good example of this would be blood. His arms only short sleeved and he often sports a mischievous smirk upon his lips, 'tis his trademark of trouble and many would know it well. His hair is in an unimaginable mess! He never sees to it and likely the only time something is done about it is when he takes a dip, even when damp some hairs of his would rise up.
Young he maybe but his body has fully matured. Therefore he is taller than your average Bree-lander but amongst his own people he would not be the tallest of men.

Background
Story
Well... There are many folk bearing a tale of interest and one of great deeds and noble actions. He does not have one.... here.
In his earliest days Redwick lived with his parents in Folde of Rohan. His father was a farmer and he made frequent journeys to Snowbourn and always Redwick would go with him even if unasked, for Redwick took a great interest in the large town and he dreamt of one day living there. He long made friends there and they became close to him, ever they would run around town and cause mischief whilst his father had tended to business. It came to pass that Redwick had ventured on his own to Snowbourn upon his father's absence and began to live the life of a Tavern lurker.
He was rather troublesome in his younger days and often caused trouble which had gotten him numerous punishments as working in the stables of Snowbourn or Tavern duty. But so he grew up and he remained mischievous. He was never alone in such deeds, he had a few friends and they had numerous codes which they lived by. The most important law or 'lagu' in their tongue is: "Never pursue a friend's lass or the lass he has his eye on." And of course such a rule caused debate every now and then but they had numerous ways of solving them, whether it be by contest of wits or greater jester. They were good friends nonetheless and always true to each other.
It just so happened that when Redwick was not yet fully matured that he would be sent to join the tower guard of Snowbourn(Which also happened to be everything his father had not wished to become of him) among that he had other duties as a bowman, one being scouting. But he loathed both of those duties. He always felt like one who was restrained and often broke minor rules while on duty upon the tower. He never wished to be a soldier, but in fact he never wished to be anything and he took being a soldier as the best. With his parents encouraging it greatly he thought that he would win a greater part of their love if he took such a duty but at the same time his little band of friends took up the same role after a long debate. And so they all joined in the defense of Snowbourn and were, by a great spot of fortune- assigned to the same tower. What chaos could this have caused

The little things that Count!
A good way to describe Redwick would be: determined, confident and persistent.
One of the amusing facts of Red is that he finds lassies with the suffix -wen or -wyn to be named in a silly way and would often chuckle at the hearing of one. According to him there are too many with those suffixes.
He calls himself a 'renowned drinker' with reason. For he can drink a great many pints and holds strong resistance against the alcohol, after much practice he has become so.
He dislikes tales or long stories, he finds them boring and often would fidget when in such a position that he would sit and listen. However there are some exceptions to this, there are tales which he will harken fully, mostly dependent on whom the teller is.
He is not the best jester but he can be quite a sly one when he means to and he always appreciates someone else who has a sense of humour much like his. Also, he often thinks of the worst times for a good jest.
He is extremely friendly but he treats everyone who he assumes to be as friendly as he, thus he often appears to do ill where he meant to do good.
He easily gets the assumption that someone does not like him or that someone does.
He is by all means not to be underestimated. He may just surprise you.
He is persistent when it comes to things he wants, however he often has a careless attitude so he doesn't really find guilt if he were to fill his wine-skin from someone else's keg or to pick a random fruit from a vendors store when he is not looking. Just a petty thief at random moments.
He can be extremely witty and will talk his way out of many situations.
He has been ever loyal to Therwen since he had given his heart to her, he now avoids lustfully gazing upon other women. And though he still has many flaws and much to learn of being a responsible man he indeed does what is in his capability to please her.
He would often go to lengths to aid his friends in need, and in the past he would do almost anything in his capabilities to see the matter resolved. But this has changed and Therwen comes first and foremost of all his friends and their needs and desires, he would not let it come between himself and her. Though it may seem a cold change in him; he has sworn to be at Therwen's side when ever she has need of him - to protect her.

When one looks upon Redwick they might see a fool. A man who has little purpose and little sense of any honour. They would be very wrong when they think so, yet not all have had chance to see Redwick being who he truly is. Who he can be.

All drawings that are on this page are done by me. However the drawing of a bow was done by me, but a friend did a bit of fixing on it with Photoshop. Nothing major, he just removed the background/lines so that I could recolour the background.
Image of Sutcrofts emblem is not my work, I hold no claim to it and a link to where I found it is here.
