Adilyr stands a little under 6'4" ( six foot, four inches ) and is broad shouldered. Many years of work in both the fields and at the anvil, and countless leagues traveled since he left the farm, have given him a lean, spare frame which he wraps in a long crimson cloak, Galadhrim mail and a black surcoat of fallen Arnor. His supple leather boots are well made, though travel stained, and he wields blades forged in Imladris and a great bow of yew.

Background

Adilyr was born on the outskirts of Bree in Narquelie (October) 2976. His father Adilhere maintained a modest farm to the west of the town at Sweetgrass, north of the Great East Road with his wife Fuinyrlas. Adilyr is the eldest of five children, he has three younger brothers; Adiathar, Adilras, and Adirvnyr, and a sister Aelysmia, who is the youngest of the children.

As eldest child, Adilyr had many responsibilities on the farm, and he dispatched these duties fully, but oft was the time when he would look about the wide lands bordering his home and yearn for what lay beyond. In the little free time he had, particularly as he grew older, he could often be found engrossed in whatever tomes or scrolls he could find, or exploring the old Greenway Fort or other ruins that were scattered around Bree. As he grew to manhood he travelled more frequently to Bree, and there upon the steps of the Scholar's Stair, he found some answers to those questions that had plagued him since the days when he scampered through the ruins of the Fallen Kingdom. Adilhere, being learned somewhat in the old ways, named his son “ Nolondil “, which is “ lore learned “ in the Sindarin tongue and introduced him to his father's nephew Tergrim, a ranger of the North who often spoken of their family's lost heritage in Arthedian and had many dealings with the Elves.

When Adilyr reached his 39th year, his sister Aelysmia was taken to wife by Riergon, a blacksmith from Bree and she removed to Staddle. His younger brothers took over the farm as Adilhere and Fuinyrlas had grown old. Believing his family safely provided for, Adilyr sought out Tergrim and spent a couple of years travelling with him. The two travelled from Mithlond in the west to the High Pass of Hithaeglir in the east and brought fire and war to their foes and those of free men.
