Drinking Contest
Think you've got what it takes to remain upright?
Think you can hold your Ale? Believe you have a claim to the title of drinking champion? Well, now is your chance to prove it! On Wednesday the 14th of December at 8 o'clock, a drinking contest shall be held at the Bree Festival Ground. All Men, Dwarves and Hobbits are welcome to enter and put their mettle to the test.
Drinks shall be served to all contestants one at a time, and the entire contents of the tankard must be consumed to proceed to the next round. If at any point an contestant is unable to finish their Ale or appears to have succumbed to their drink, they shall be removed from the contest.
The last contestant remaining in the competition shall be declared the winner, and claim the title of the Bree-Land Drinking Champion.

If you don't have the stomach for drinking down a dozen pints of the finest Ale, then perhaps you can offer your assistance serving the Ale up to our competitiors? If you care to offer your time to assist in handing out the Ale, please contact Guvadan or Rinni in person, or by leaving a note for either of them at the Prancing Pony.

Please note this is intended as a role play event. The mechanics described below are only intended to help determine a winner, and you as a role player will still be required to invest your imagination and creativity into the event. Try to think about how your character would react to consuming large quantities of ale and react accordingly, but most of all try to have fun and not ruin anyone else's experience.
Mechanics

When you join the event, you will be added to a fellowship.

On the first round, everyone may drink as normal.

On the second round and subsequent rounds, the /roll mechanic shall be used to determine if your character becomes 'drunk'. In order to remain sober, you must roll higher than this number in the fellowship.

The number will be increased after each round: for example 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and so forth.

Bonuses and penalty points will be given based on gender and race (see below).

When only one person remains "sober" they are declared the winner.

In the event of a tie in the final round, the highest roll wins.

All Dwarves shall get +10 to their rolls to reflect their hardy natures.

All female characters shall get -5 to their roll to reflect the fact women having a lower tolerance for alcohol.
