Having recently been encouraged... to perform a rescue I find myself in need of volunteers who are either strong of arm or mind or anything in between.

The task will involve the acquiring a missing Elven Maid who is thought to now be in the hands of the Orcs in Dol Dinen.

The Rangers of the North are supporting me in this task but I fear we will need greater numbers for the task ahead.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you are willing to aid me as time is growing short

Do you need a tool repaired?
Or maybe a good armor for you or your entire company?
Is your sword not sharp enough?

Then come to Orm óg Fýr, where the fire burns hotter and the steel is harder than anywhere else.
Even the dwarves would be jealous!

Aislif from Dale and Winifredu from the Riddermark offer you fair prices against quick and precise work. Whether it is weapons, armor, a solid shield or fine jewelry you seek, you will be served with all you seek for. Be sure to come by some time to feel the heat of a forge that burns with the heat of a dragon's breath!

A Journey To Rivendell

As I am planing a journey to Rivendell.

The travel will be long I am aware, even more since it include a journey back as well.

The roads may be blocked by nature or by man.

Yet I am no scout or fighter.

For this I seek men and women, I care not for gender.

You will of course be paid for your effort and time.

Leave a letter in The Prancing Pony with Barliman if this has your interest.

Drinking Contest

Think you've got what it takes to remain upright?

Think you can hold your Ale? Believe you have a claim to the title of drinking champion? Well, now is your chance to prove it! On Wednesday the 14th of December at 8 o'clock, a drinking contest shall be held at the Bree Festival Ground. All Men, Dwarves and Hobbits are welcome to enter and put their mettle to the test.

Drinks shall be served to all contestants one at a time, and the entire contents of the tankard must be consumed to proceed to the next round. If at any point an contestant is unable to finish their Ale or appears to have succumbed to their drink, they shall be removed from the contest.

The last contestant remaining in the competition shall be declared the winner, and claim the title of the Bree-Land Drinking Champion.

Drink Servers Required

If you don't have the stomach for drinking down a dozen pints of the finest Ale, then perhaps you can offer your assistance serving the Ale up to our competitiors? If you care to offer your time to assist in handing out the Ale, please contact Guvadan or Rinni in person, or by leaving a note for either of them at the Prancing Pony.

OOC details:

Please note this is intended as a role play event. The mechanics described below are only intended to help determine a winner, and you as a role player will still be required to invest your imagination and creativity into the event. Try to think about how your character would react to consuming large quantities of ale and react accordingly, but most of all try to have fun and not ruin anyone else's experience.

Mechanics

  • When you join the event, you will be added to a fellowship.
  • On the first round, everyone may drink as normal.
  • On the second round and subsequent rounds, the /roll mechanic shall be used to determine if your character becomes 'drunk'. In order to remain sober, you must roll higher than this number in the fellowship.
  • The number will be increased after each round: for example 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and so forth.
  • Bonuses and penalty points will be given based on gender and race (see below).
  • When only one person remains "sober" they are declared the winner.
  • In the event of a tie in the final round, the highest roll wins.

Bonuses and Penalties

  • All Dwarves shall get +10 to their rolls to reflect their hardy natures.
  • All female characters shall get -5 to their roll to reflect the fact women having a lower tolerance for alcohol.

Rohirrim! Subjects of King Theóden of Rohan!

Those of you who have ventured far from your homes know that in your hearts, you desire nothing more than to return to your beloved lands and peoples. Like you, we too seek the journey home, but we have yet to attain our strength.

We call upon all Rohirrim who have remained in Bree to join with us, the Riders of the Riddermark! While the rest have begun the journey into the Gap of Rohan, many of us still linger, for whatever reason. We are hereby organizing the Westridehere, or the Riders of the West as it is known in Westron, a small Eored militia within the Riders of the Riddermark to serve Bree and in the process, prepare for the journey home.

Sir Eardhelm and Lady Creowyn of the Riders of the Riddermark have been charged with this task, and this Eored is looking for Rohirrim to join its ranks. If you wish to join, inform us at once.

((OOC Note: US-based Time Zone players wanted, though all are welcome!)).

I am a caravaner in need of trustworthy guards to help protect my goods and people. I require at least three guards, though I may hire more if excellent skill or a keen mind is demonstrated. Must be capable of handling themselves with discretion, confidence and respect for each other. Men and women are accepted.

All guards will be expected to discuss their capabilites before hire, but the positions will be fairly rewarded. Guards for multiple trips are preferred but I will also hire single-trip guards for shorter trade routes.

If you are interested, please contact Branian Woodfell at either the Prancing Pony or the Combe and Wattle. Correspondences may be left with Barliman Butterbur if I cannot be immediately reached.

I happen to have a few treasure items lying around that I believe the men of Bree and the hobbit community would be very interested in obtaining. If there is anyone out there that is in need of increasing their standing with the communities of those, please dont be shy to ask around for me.
