To me there is nothing more blissful than to greet the morning to the sound of a bubbling brook or the soft tones of a meandering river as it seeks the Ocean. It is my first day heading due east, to leave the bounds of Lindon, my hope to find the source to each of the great rivers I have record of and perhaps even discover something new!
It was a pleasant surprise however to hear the faint humming across the water from the riverbank behind the small island where I had spent the night. An Elleth whom was unfamiliar to me seemed to be content in searching for something among the plant life.
I stood and cast my gaze across the river way nodding a welcoming greeting upon which her humming stopped as if tilting her head in a curious yet understanding fashion. There was a pause as we both gauged the nature of the others presence. She then stepped into the river gracefully and waded with ease to where I stood.
Greetings were shared, it was clear to me this was an Elleth of the flora, a Lady who adorned herself with nature itself. I introduced myself as did she, her name, Nimlith.
She was clearly curious to my purpose here but perceptive enough to know my intentions. We discussed the merits of water and land and the balance of each, one depending on the other, the discussion was fluid and direct yet in passing as we mused the surroundings and enjoyed the shared appreciation of all that surrounds us.
She spoke of her search for herbs and plants in relation to medicinal purposes and I shared my venture to find the sources of the great rivers to learn and document.
Twas too soon that we needed to part company but each had their own tasks and our paths were opposite in direction. None the less I have found a peer, nay a good friend.
