Will of the Lost - (Chronicles of a Sword)

I have found you…”

“I have found you….”

A deep sounded voice whispered in her dream while the night breeze swirled around the maiden, grazing her pale skin and leaving its chilly touch behind.

It’s you! The one in my dreams…”

Reiven woke up with a startle, cold sweat coating her brow, and her heart pounding. The words still echoed in her ears, along with the same feeling of guilt. For a while the same dream had haunted her after the incident but not after that. In the darkness her hand reached blindly for the silver swan amulet and the fine chain that held it. As her fingers touched the smooth surface of the cold metal, realizing where she was, she slowly began to relax. She felt the warmth of Teremonth passing through the silk linens, sleeping in peace. She just wanted to nestle into his arms but the whistle of the wind made her slip out of the bed. Followed the call till she felt the touch of moist green grasses under her bare feet and stopped just near the riverbank. Under the moonlight her eyes caught the silver glittering hiding beneath the water. She recalled the time when Veryacano threw the sword of Daelith into the water..

“Good to see you’re free from the mark…”

Wind blew around her wrist with the voice

Daelith… you…”

“You know…” whispered the wind into her ear “Sometimes I miss to feel the weight of its tilt in my hand”

Reiven frowned, obviously feeling uneasy to talk with the winds’ whistle or the sounds of her creation?

“Your sword…?”

He laughed within a blow. “My sword…”

“Do you….” Reiven asked a bit of hesitation in her voice “Do you want me to find it for you?”

“Dear..?” Teremonth stepped out of the entrance, studying around with his keen eyes.

Reiven startled with his sudden approach and jumped out of her skin.

“Oh.. I didn’t mean to scare you.. but.. What are you doing? I heard someone talking.. “

I.. I couldn’t sleep” said Reiven faintly.

Teremonth opened his arms offering a warm embrace and she nuzzled with appreciation.

“You.. you are freezing…” He elf surprised with the touch of her cold skin “Elbereth… Let me take you inside..”

As Reiven nodded slowly still shivering, wind whispered after them “If you need to find me I shall be residing atop the hill”
